Topkeuze in Lissabon
Pros:

Gigantisch en luxe appartement met groot zonnig terras met uitzicht over de daken van Lissabon. De bedden en badkamers zijn 5sterren hotel waardig! Een rustpunt in de drukte van de stad. De badlakens die we bij het gedeelde zwembad kregen, wat een comfort! Het personeel is zeer professioneel en discreet. Het appartement was volledig gerenoveerd, anders dan de fotos op Booking, dat leek qua meubels gedateerder dan de werkeljkheid.

Pros:

Plenty of space, good location, helpful staff, modern apartment

Cons:

Would have liked a few extra tv channels, particularly something in English (even a news channel). Not the biggest of deals as we were out most of the time, but would have been nice for some chill time.

Cons:

Unser Apartment muss dringend renoviert werden. Boden an verschiedenen Stellen aufgeplatzt und aufgequollen. Wände müssen gestrichen werden. Möbel zum Teil sehr abgenutzt, Rollos eingerissen und ausgefranst. Auf keinen Fall das Geld wert in diesem Zustand. Besitzer völlig uneinsichtig und fast schon frech in seiner Antwort.

Beautiful location and apartment was very updated.
Pros:

Location was great in a quiet neighborhood.

Cons:

The apartment did have an ant problem. Couch and dining table had ants which also got into the bedding. Housekeeping did address the problem.

I really tried to be positive, but I hated everything about this place.

1) SAFETY CONCERNS DUE TO DRUG USE: There were three and then as many as five people openly using what appeared to be heroin directly outside my first-floor room and balcony. They could easily climb onto the balcony and enter the flat. In fact, there were signs from the hotel instructing guests never to leave the window open. This made me feel extremely unsafe. I recorded a video of the situation as discreetly as I could and have loaded it here as evidence. After the first night, I moved to a higher floor.

2) CONSTRUCTION WORK: I was also annoyed by the substantial construction work taking place directly in front of the property. Given the scale and proximity of the works, I believe guests should have been informed in advance. The attached video also documents this.

3) FALSE CHECK-IN TIME: The advertised 3-9 PM check-in time is false, but what really annoyed me is that literally right after the free-cancellation period had ended, the hotel contacted me saying reception closed at 5 pm. Lies are unacceptable and it is even worse to reveal the truth once I can no longer cancel my reservation for free.

4) RUNDOWN PROPERTY & BAD SMELL: The hotel itself is considerably more rundown than the photographs suggested. The curtains were stained and damaged, a living room chair was broken, and there was a persistent unpleasant smell. The first apartment smelled strongly of damp/moisture, while the second had a constant smell of fried food.

In my view, this hotel is not worth the price I paid, nor the rating it has on Booking.
