Relaxing Stay
Pros:

Lovely place to stay. Lucky with good weather. I requested a room upstairs with a view out to the street and this was actioned - very happy. Tastefully renovated. Wonderful big modern bathroom. Liked the large windows. Could easily have stayed longer. Best of all was the Whitebait Omelette in the restaurant - had the same meal the next night - WOW! The visit to the Hokitika Gorge is beautiful. South Island scenery is amazing.

Cons:

My first day in the cafe for morning coffee was very enjoyable. Ordered the mega size coffee in a mug and a savoury. Next day it was a different staff member. Ordered same coffee and a savoury. The staff member asked if I wanted the savoury in a paper bag (had they run out of plates) no, it's not a takeaway. I sat down at a table and when the coffee arrived in was in a paper cup. I questioned why and was told that I had to ask for a mug. I pointed out that the person at another table had their coffee in a proper cup, so she took it away and came back with a coffee in a ceramic mug. It was a bit off-putting. Not very welcoming. Only other thing was only TV 1 and TV 2 and 3 religious channels. TV 1 and 2 were mostly football and I'm not keen on watching sports. Maybe more channels on Freeview could be considered.

Right in town, good restaurant.

Cons:

Bathroom had no vanity or place to put anything on. Water went all over the floor when in the shower. Room windows opened onto pavement outside.

Pros:

Central location right in town and a very short walk to the beach. The bar/restaurant being downstairs was awesome. Delicious food! Perfect for a one night stop over. Very spacious room.

Cons:

King bed was two singles together but not very comfortable. We got put in the disability room so shower was all open with shower curtain only which meant the whole floor got saturated and difficult to get towels dry.

Real nice room, restaurant/bar was amazing.

Cons:

Room 10 can hear the chiller going outside all night. Didn’t bother us too much but just for other people who may be more sensitive sleepers

Buen alojamiento
Pros:

La ubicación en Hokitika es muy buena (aunque el pueblo en sí, no tiene mucho para ofrecer). Ideal para pasar una noche si justo se da la necesidad.

Cons:

En el restoran del hotel, hubo varios cortes de electricidad (es cierto que el clima estaba bastante inestable).
