Wyndham Phuket Airport

The staff & the rooms were not pleasing.

It is about 1 km walk from reception to the accommodation. They provided a car to take us there on our arrival and departure. There is no phone in the room to reach reception. The staff was a bit clueless with poor English. Quite a distance to walk to the beach. They have a shuttle bus to the beach but minimal hours and spaces. It costs way too much to extend the room for longer use. We had to purchase an additional day as it worked out cheaper than to pay for a few extra hours.
We went to the main reception in the morning to ask for beach towels just to find out they were at the main building, which is 1 km away. And this was not advised on our arrival.
It is not a proper hotel, but blocks of individual flats.

Changing the check in time from 12pm to 2pm after I arrived at the hotel. The only reason for booking was the early check in time

The food

Although our room was more than big enough as it was a 2 bedroom apartment. We were put right at the back of the hotel and the full force of the Airport noise. To the side of the bedroom was the balcony which overlooked a rather ugly gravel coach park where around 5-10 coaches would be parked up and constantly had their engines on, we were woken up on each night between 2-4am to the sound of the coaches revving their engines whilst parked up and even the beeping the horn, keep in mind this was a deserted gravel car park within the hotel grounds. We had two bathrooms which sounds great, however the first walk in shower room completely flooded with water after taking a shower to the point it was ridiculous and not quite just a ‘wet room’ and more like a water park. The second bathroom leaked water from the ceiling everytime you had a shower in it also. There is no phone in your room to call reception either. We chose this hotel to give us comfort as we were volunteering for two days at a dog sanctuary and wanted relaxation after a long day getting dirty and walking over 20,000 steps. We lost sleep each night which was the main annoyance. We did tell the staff but all they could say was sorry and did not offer us a new room.

There was no single bottle of water in the room when we checked in. On Booking.com was saying that the room had a twin bed and a sofa bed, but there was NO sofa bed at all !!!
They never cleaned our room on the second day.
They had a fridge, hob, and presses, but there is no pots, bo cutlery, no plates etc

I paid a lot of money for a room with a pool view and was looking at a car park

The check-in and check-out process was very, very long. No organization at all.

The location is not good, you are far away from everything except the airport.
Since all the attractions are at the other end you have to travel all the way , if you have rented a car or motorbike then it is fine. If not getting taxi especially late night is very difficult

Poor maintenance of building

Rooms look bigger in pictures. They squeeze a double and a single into a small room. Living room is small also, but not there to stay in room all day. You can tell this was an appartment complex converted to hotel. The beds filled the entire bedroom, from wall to window. Just enough space to open the door and walk past the beds.

Door lock stopped working as battery was dead. We had to call hotel Everytime to open the door. Building maintenance is obviously not good.

Bathroom smelt of sewage when used, came from shower drain. Really not great when your compressed into a small space. This is normally a result of low occupancy hotels and lack of building maintenance.

Beds are quite hard, but this is personal preference. Pillows are definately cheap type pillows. I. E. Not great for neck, head support. Everyone woke up next day with sore necks. Again personal preference.

The room is 100% Not designed for 3 adults and 1 child. The booking system should not allow for it to be booked.

It's not for us to tell someone to stay here or not. But be informed that I faced all the problems others have complained about. Which means there are systemic problems with this hotel that are not being resolved.
