The staff is awesome
Very affordable
Chaves is a lovely town and we really enjoyed our stay there. Hotel Katia is well situated, near free car parking. The lady who runs it is friendly and welcoming. She was very good at speaking slowly and clearly so that we could understand (our Portuguese is limited). The breakfast was amazing - including beautiful fresh fruit, home made jams and delicious cakes.
They don't take payment by credit card. I had forgotten that, and our cash was running out.

The tv was a bit small.
The hostess was very friendly and the room spotlessly clean . Breakfast was varied and delicious. The address is good for Chaves with lovely walks all round.
The next door restaurants, bars and young motorbike boys kept up a crazy loud din until 3.30 am and the bar staff cleared up, shouting to one another until 4.30 am. Our hostess just shrugged her shoulders about it the next day. Perhaps it only happens on weekends but it was really impossible to sleep, even with earplugs 🥴
The shower over the bath didn't function.
