Was an overall relaxing stay.
Pros:

Gardens were beautiful, clean and relaxing. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was very good and reasonably priced.

Cons:

Rooms very outdated. Needs attention.

A hidden gem, offering peace for the soul
Pros:

The best part of our stay was the ranch feel the lodge has. The horses are roaming below the rooms in the meadow. In the background the scenic view of the Wagendrift dam. The early morning call of the resident fish eagles. The restaurant had wholesome food at affordable prices. And the ice-cold refreshments was just what we needed after a long day of travel. The budget room we stayed in was far from that, with everything and more that we needed for our overnight stop. We left the next morning at sunrise and felt well rested and ready for the road home.

I would not go there in a hurry again. The management must up their game .
Pros:

Location was very good Some of the staff was very welcoming. The receptionist (MEL) was very helpful and very welcoming and helped move us to a better unit when we were unhappy .

Cons:

The restuarant manager was not helpful at all. If there is any help you need outside his restuarant management duties, He would not even try to help even if he was the only one present
We did not have wifi from the time we arrived till we left. The cleaners do not clean properly. Dust starting from the reception area to No. 19 and defintily in other units. The muiti plug for charging fones and other devices is mounted too high up the wall. The kettle had to be placed on the floor to heat water because plug was very close to the floor and cable was short. we had water problems the first day we arrived, struggled to get the jacuzzi going with hot water. There was a storm which caused a power failure which affected water supply. there was no backup power.

Blue Haze Country Lodge – Estcourt

Our stay at Blue Haze Country Lodge was a huge disappointment, and I would not recommend it to anyone.

The room we reserved online looked nothing like what we were given on arrival. The pictures were completely misleading. We were first assigned Room 31, which was nightmarish in both layout and overall quality. It felt more like a poorly converted staff or family room than a guest room. After raising concerns, we were moved to Room 30, which was not much better.

Room 30 had a strong musty smell, and the bottom of the walls had peeling paint caused by moisture. The overall condition of the room was poor and uninviting. The shower was extremely basic, similar to what you would expect at a very cheap backpackers’ lodge, with an old, ancient shower head. It was not pleasant to use at all.

The towels provided were brown, old, and worn out, which added to the feeling of neglect. The entire experience left us wondering what gave the impression that we did not deserve the standard of accommodation we had paid for.

To make matters worse, when we spoke to friends who were attending the same event and also staying at the lodge, they shared similar negative experiences. Not one of them had anything positive to say.

Overall, this was a very poor experience, and I would not return or recommend Blue Haze Country Lodge to anyone.

I booked a Honey Moon Suite but I didn’t get to experience what the room came with the Bath Tub/Jacuzzi had cold water all. The way couldn’t even use it secondly the shower had hot water but the minute you put cold water everything turns cold the hot water turns cold and lastly it was a cold weekend they had. electrical blanket but it was not even getting heated it remained cold lastly the ironing place where you can iron the Clothes it was dirty there was no clean side where you could hand out clothes
