El diseño del hotel es contemporáneo, con diferentes edificios y villas en una gran parcela, frente al rio Támega en su encuentro con el Douro y con una piscina sobre los viñedos que lindan con el río.
El servicio no nos gustó, eran jóvenes con poca experiencia y no había un encargad@ o responsable al que acudir; reclamamos en varias ocasiones que la tv de nuestra habitación no funcionaba y no hicieron nada para solucionarlo. El bar de la piscina cerraba antes de su horario, y la habitación, aunque era confortable, era de escasa superficie.

Ficámos duas noites neste alojamento e, relativamente à villa e ao espaço envolvente, nada a apontar: estava tudo muito agradável.
Infelizmente, a última noite ficou marcada por uma situação bastante grave. Estava a decorrer um casamento no espaço de eventos e, devido à proximidade da nossa villa, houve bastante ruído durante a noite.
O mais preocupante aconteceu por volta das 3h da manhã: enquanto eu, o meu marido e o nosso filho de 1 ano dormíamos, dois desconhecidos entraram na nossa villa e chegaram ao nosso quarto. Eram convidados do casamento e alguém lhes tinha dado um cartão que, inexplicavelmente, permitia o acesso à nossa villa.
Como não é possível trancar ou bloquear a villa pelo interior e a receção está encerrada durante a noite, passámos o resto da noite inquietos e sem ninguém a quem recorrer.
Na manhã seguinte reportámos o sucedido na receção, mas sentimos que a situação foi desvalorizada. Não recebemos de imediato um pedido de desculpas nem uma explicação sobre como foi possível dar a terceiros acesso a uma villa ocupada.
Não sabemos se foi uma falha pontual de organização ou um problema de segurança, mas permitir que desconhecidos entrem no alojamento de hóspedes durante a madrugada é, para nós, uma situação muito grave. É uma pena, porque o espaço é excelente, mas uma experiência destas compromete completamente a sensação de segurança e tranquilidade.

Terrasse extérieure réservée à une famille (nombreuse) ce qui obligeait les autres clients à déjeuner ou dîner à l’intérieur!! Service pas au niveau de standing de l’hôtel.

I’ve had my fair share of travelling across Europe, and I’ve always been drawn to agrotourism and boutique hotels when I’m looking for somewhere to truly relax. Yet, of all the places I’ve stayed, none has impressed me quite like Quinta de Santo António.
Being Portuguese, there’s something incredibly special about discovering places like this. It reminds you why the North of Portugal is so unique.
It’s not just the breathtaking views, the beautiful rooms, or how impeccably clean everything is. It’s the calmness and genuine friendliness of the staff — from the restaurant team to the housekeeping ladies. Everyone seems to be in a good mood, happy to help, with a smile in every encounter.
And then there are the little things that make all the difference. After spending the whole day in the sun, I ended up with a terrible headache and, with all the pharmacies closed, the receptionist actually went and got me one of their Brufens. Who does that anymore? That small gesture said everything.
Our family of four felt genuinely welcomed and cared for from the moment we arrived. And that’s something you can’t manufacture.
Honestly, Northern Portugal still gets it right. The warmth of its people, the incredible food, the slower pace of life — I truly hope it never changes.
