Maua Beach Lodge – Completely Unreliable, Avoid at All Costs

​Rating: if I could give zero I would.
​Absolute worst experience. We arrived at Maua Beach Lodge expecting to check in, only to be told on arrival that they couldn't accommodate us and were moving us to a completely different location. It was glaringly obvious they had overbooked the property and simply didn't care.

​What makes this entirely unacceptable is the complete lack of basic communication. No phone call prior, no email, no warning whatsoever. We were left stranded upon arrival with zero notice and forced to relocate. Leaving guests in the dark and shuffling them off to secondary accommodations is atrocious customer service.

​Save yourself the stress and book somewhere that actually respects their guests and honors their reservations. Totally unprofessional and very bad management.

Abbiamo pagato due notti ma ne abbiamo fatta una sola, non ci hanno voluto dare la camera pagata e confermata da booking chi ha fatto le veci della proprietaria è veramente maleducata per come ha trattato noi e il ragazzo che ci ha accolto ci ha rifilato una stanza piccola e a ridosso della strada con i camion che sembravano ci entrassero dentro, la porta non si chiudeva era rotta, l'aria condizionata non si poteva gestire era tarata a 26 gradi e faceva caldo, il water era all'aperto senza una copertura e ha pure piovuto, sporco, tutto sporco, in un mese di Zanzibar questo è stato il posto peggiore , peccato perché avrei voluto passare la fine della vacanza qui prolungando anche le notti ma alla fine ci ho rimesso 60 USD non merita affatto quei soldi

We loved the pool and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The property had a generator for lights and fans which if you have visited Zanzibar before is key because they have many power cuts.

Cons:

We liked everything at the property. Sometimes the food took a long time to cook and there were limited options from the menu but the food itself was yummy.
