The staff was very very friendly. There was a working fridge with a complementary water, a kettle with some free tea and coffee, free shower supplies. There was hot water.
Minor inconvenience but the toilet was weirdly high and the bathroom was kind of not entirely straight but on a bit of a slope. It also took a bit for hot water to start. The room was small but we spent whole day outside anyway so that wasn't too much of an issue.
Unkompliziert, gute Lage, Sauber
Zimmerreinigung um 2 Uhr Nachts!
There is no breakfast option, however in just 20 meters there is a great bakery and also a store with fruits with good prices and excellent quality. Staff in hotel was really friendly and helpful, however the lack of understanding of English language was a bit challenging. (Hotel staff to not been able to communicate in english? I couldn't believe it). Anyway, no one else could speak in the city, so...god bless..google translation! Nevertheless, all willing to assist and help, including even the ladies who cleaned the room.
The room is nothing special but decent! Not good lighting within the room but ok. Bed not very soft...but ok!
The important is that it's clean, in a great location, so close to the center square but in a very quiet street. Next to hotel there are places to eat, get a coffee, buy staff, a pharmacy, etc. For the cost of the room, it was a fair deal.
WiFi was available and always up with decent speed. We had no issues i.e. to watch movies. There are several empty power sockets, so we could charge our phones, tablets, etc without delays.
Beds and pillows could be softer! The smell of cigarettes in the toilet (from ventilation) that I read, in prior, in other critics, it's a real thing! Not something terrible but it's there. The hotel is very small and has no space, in general. No receptions (just a small desk), dark small stairs. not a very good lighting in corridors! It is, what it is...but it's quite!
Refrigerator is small and without a freezer. There was no problem with the light (door is glassy/transparent) as I read to a couple of others.
The air condotioning was working and the clerks has been nice.
It stinks for cold cigarette smoke in the room the corridor and the staircase. A lot of things has been broken - even the button of the toilet flush. Room cleaning once a week. The TV was not working. Everything was messy - the staircase, the corridor, the common room and the kitchen. The light in the fridge with the glass door was shining all night long.
Close to the center, friendly hosts. Budget friendly
Loud sound coming from the bathroom at night. Smoke smell in the room. Not good sound isolation.
It’s centrally located, however, it’s in one of those back streets where you have to take yourself out at the front of where the busy life is.
There was an ashtray in my room and smoking is most certainly banned across globally and it was very off putting for me that smoke was coming through the filters and doorways from different rooms.
I understand they do not wish to miss out on their guests but at the same time they also have no right to spoil the comfort of other guests who are non smokers.
As a r result they should go out and smoke should they wish to.
The location was very handy, walking distance to the Bay, ferries, shops, cafes etc. Daytime front desk staff were very helpful. Aircon was very effective.
The bed was very, very hard and I didn't sleep well at all. The hotel is old & tired & really in need of a facelift. Breakfast is no longer included - was given no explanation about this, just told no longer offered. It was quite expensive given the standard of the accomodation.
The room details provided in the booking were completely different to reality, hotel management declined to accept that the information provided on booking.com is provided by them, so I don't know if booking.com reflects incorrect information or it was a hotel, the rooms provided were very small, then they put an additional bed making it more cluttered. The bathrooms were dirty, some drops of piss on the toilet seat, sanitary was not clean. Despite the fact that we checked in around 8 but rooms were not ready. They offered the refund but I did not accept that looking for another hotel at the last minute was difficult and expensive. They made a partial refund but the hotel was still not a good value. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
The room was good
The guy at the reception didn't speak English. I suppose this hotel for local travellers. I booked it because of convenient location. Hotel is located near Karşıyaka pier.
Location
I booked for breakfast but they stopped serving breakfast a month before I got there.
Breakfast good - very nice rooftop eating area available all the time
Not being woken at 5am with call to prayer.
Communicating in English a little difficult
