We made it work.
Pros:

It met our needs for a location near Canton, Waynesville where we travel to visit family. Not far from restaurants and store. The grounds were nice--access to fire pit and grille. The cottage fit my family as far as space was concerned. Though on a main highway, it was quiet and we felt safe. The beds and linen were comfortable and there was room for lounging in the living room. We appreciated the washer and dryer.

Cons:

It appeared to be a recent renovation but stopped short of completion. There was a noticeable dank and moldy smell when I walked in. The bottom cabinets under the sink had a very moldy smell and noticeable water damage. Some of the pots, pans, and utensils were stored here in this moldy environment. We did not use them. The cleaning was not great. There were large crumbs of food and open condiment packets in the cabinets. The cabinets themselves were noticeably greasy. The lack of attention to detail in cleaning made the envelope for tips left on the table all the more irritating. Of the pictures listed, very few are of this cottage we stayed at--false advertising. There was no second story (implied by the pictures of the steps) and the rooms were not as pictured. The internet was unstable the whole time we were there which we needed for classes. I was unable to watch a full program without the show glitching out because of no connection. There were newer appliances but while the stove top served us fine, the oven did not. It worked one night and not the rest of the time. I contacted management on all these issues. While they were responsive and professional we were unable to agree. I asked for a partial refund of $25 per night which was denied. To their credit, they did offer 20% discount for future stay. While it may be fine for a bunch of dudes wanting to party I would not bring the family here again when we return. So the future discount does not compensate for this stay I paid for. The value was not there and what was advertised was not delivered.

We love staying here and have for years. The location is perfect, the rooms are clean and well kept, facilities are up

The view was amazing! Love the option of the bigger house.

Cons:

The oven did not heat up correctly. When trying to cook breakfast and dinner had to finish heating in the microwave or on the stove top.

Perfect small room for a night! I found the bed and pillows to be comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

I prefer more of a pitch black room.. there were a few small lights on devices through out the room that are on even if it is off. I ended up having to get an eye mask.
