Was able to watch Netflix
The carpet was in a bad need of vacuuming. There was a stain on the sheet perhaps from a spilled drink.
Three location was nice. And the historic feel of the property was neat.
I was the only one checking in when we got here and 30 minutes later he was having to restart the whole process even though I already paid online through booking.com we were going to be late for a wedding by this point so we left and came back after to check in. The owner was impressively rude to my girlfriend and I. We brought our dog and they didn’t let us know there was any issue with that until the next day and then wanted to charge us a large extra fee. Tried to show him pictures of how dirty the room was and he said I don’t give a shit. I said I know you don’t. He looked at the picture of the stained bed cover and he said what the f*ck do you want me to do about it. I’ve never been talked to like this by a business owner and was shocked by his behavior. The house keeping lady was very sweet and apologetic. We ended up only staying one night and the owner said he would give us a refund for the second night and never did.
The hotel offered one of the cheaper rooms in the area. I was travelling alone, and price conscious, so it worked for me. As long as the room is clean, then it works for me. It was close to a cool bar. After I checked in at 10:30 pm, I walked around the corner and dropped into the bar for a $4 beer and $7.50, 9" pizza. It is an old hotel with rustic charm. I noted the rotary phone in the room, and got a room key (instead of a card). I would stay here again. If I was traveling with the wife, might reconsider.
Not a huge deal but there were a few deficiencies. The toilet seat was not attached to anything so kind of free floating. The sink facet had an erratic spray and I had to play with the shower head to get a reasonable spray.
Desperate need for a thorough, deep cleaning. The owner stated the room was clean, it was not. The room looks like it hasnt had a wipe The AC is in need of a charge, blows room temperature. Stifling hot.
We thought that it may be a quaint old hotel. We were wrong!
The one and only staff person was very rude. The place was filthy and the registration desk smelled of urine! We had paid in advance, when we saw and smelled our room, we just left and didn't ask for our money back.
Location is good.
If you're traveling with family, avoid this place at all costs. The moment we walked in, we were hit with a horrible smell, mostly of stale smoke, even though we booked a non-smoking room. The carpet felt like it hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks, and the bathroom was dirty and poorly maintained. On top of that, there was no Wi-Fi, which was incredibly frustrating. Honestly, I still can't forget the awful smell of the entire place — it stayed with us even after we left. This was a huge disappointment and absolutely not worth the money. Stay somewhere else if you value cleanliness and comfort.
Decent price. Good location.
Lack of parking. No restaurant and bar as advertised. They were there, but not open.
Not a thing, besides the refund he gave us. We ended up not staying there.
When we walked in we had to find the owner. There were no signs on where to go. We finally found the owner in the bar area. The bar had table filled with random things, such as a broken lamp, snacks, a peach.
When we got to our hotel door it looked like someone had knocked the lock out at some point.
When we got in the top cover had stains all over it. We pulled off the cover the sheet wasn't much better.
The floor didn't look like it had been vacuumed
Convenient location, easy parking, exceptional value. Nice staff
No microwave or refrigerator
I liked that it was old timey. But it was also filthy.
Shady people hanging around building. The place stank! Was dark and dingy. Needed more toilet paper for room. Couldn’t find anyone, so took it from bathroom in bar area.
I made a reservation well in advance, spoke to Mrs Gravel voice on the phone. Upon arrival was told she "whoever that was" gave my room away. The only available room was $30 more! In the morning owner offered me a cup of coffee, then charged me for it. Room was ok I guess but place is run like one big "House Of Scam"!
You have been warned!
Location was close from where we came. Diner down the street was good for breakfast. Beds were comfortable.
Room was dirty, dingy curtains. Towels were old & worn.
A lot of character, good location, rotary phone in the room, smart tv, prices at the bar were great
carpet in the room wasn't great and a bit crusty, bathroom fan was loud, dueling TV's at high volume in the bar area wasn't ideal.
We checked in at about 2pm and were told That booking.com did not charge us the correct amount. We had to pay another five dollars on top of what we had already paid online at the time of booking. We took our things up to our room. Looked around, noticed that the carpets were filthy. The dresser was not clean and there was a very strong smell of bleach. Also I'm not quite sure if the bed sheets had been changed as they were very wrinkled. The best spread also had stains on it, and there was some kind of trash underneath the bed. Pictures attached.
We left our things in the room and went to eat a late lunch and decided that we could not stay in the room due to the uncleanliness.
We went back to the room and immediately gathered our things and left the hotel at 330 pm. We left the key on the dresser with a note.
A refund would be much appreciated as we did not use anything in the room.
It's an old hotel and the owners have a for sale sign on the window. Unfortunately, the town of Bath has a lot of empty store fronts, The room was a decent size, the bathroom had been updated at some point and we had running water and hot water. However, the room was very musty and I could not open the window to get some fresh air in the room. The hotel at one time had a restaurant but the kitchen was no longer open. There was a bar which I think kmight still be open but we opted to go to one of the other bars in town.
Was able to get a room right away.
The accomodations were great. The man who waited on us was great.
