The house was very pretty, well cared for, and there were lots of little additions I appreciated like the biscuits in the room, the soaps, selection of teas, and smart TV. I couldnt stay for the breakfast but the facilities looked very good.
Can’t think of anything.
The welcome we got from staff was exceptional. The breakfast was fantastic too.

Lovely view, not too far from town centre. Breakfast was superb. Nothing was too much trouble to the staff
The hotel is a very short walk into town, yet far enough away, should you wish to enjoy some peace and spectacular views north over Oban Bay.
The cooked breakfast was absolutely superb, topped off with Scotland's finest Stornoway Black Pudding.
The bedroom was spotlessly clean and had a great view over Oban Bay.
The public areas were beautifully decorated and very classy.
The gardens were immaculate and beautifully planted.
The Bar was stocked with some of Scotland's finest Malt Whiskies.
Whilst evening meals are no longer served, we had a cheese selection off the Bar light supper menu. Based on this and the other items offered, we think you could have a perfectly enjoyable evening meal at the hotel, should you not wish to travel the short distance into town.
Most importantly, both Steven and David were spectacular hosts. There was attention to very small details throughout our stay. For example, David gently touched my coffee pot upon service of our breakfast, just enough to see if it was still hot....and it was. This is just a small example of terrific service exhibited by them both.
This is a fantastic "10 out of 10" hotel for us all day long, however if I was to be super critical......and you have asked......
Please trim down height of bushes in beautiful rear garden, they are beginning to hamper the utterly stunning view over the Loch from seats in the patio area.
The standard double bed in our room was too small. We acknowledge that my wife and I are giants, so bigger/taller than average, however Room 1 could take a larger bed, which I think all guests staying there would greatly appreciate. Upon departure we were told about rooms with larger beds, so will bear this in mind when booking in the future.
Television - Whilst we did not spend long in the room (clear blue skies and a terrific view were on offer outside) we found the television impossible to operate, resulting in us calling Steven twice to assist. It was also the smallest screen we have ever found in a hotel, making it difficult for us old optically challenged folk to see. Nothing excessive is required as the room has lots of lovely character but a 32 inch unit would be better for those of us oldies, who still like waking up with TV news in the morning.
Excellent location, close to everything including the ferries. Relaxing lounge and bar areas. Well appointed and presented rooms. Generous home cooked breakfast. Helpful staff. Highly recommend The Manor House.
Outstanding staff: just the right amount of friendliness. Charming.
The breakfast was wonderful: a variety of high quality choices. Lovely breakfast room.
The setting/location was also great: close enough to walk from the train station and into the town center but quiet and peaceful.
The room was a bit small.
The staff of the hotel was exceptional. David was an excellent host and provided a great introduction to the Scotch whisky collection in the lounge. Breakfast was delicious and the view from the hotel overlooking Oban is delightful. The ferry terminal and city center were about 8 minutes away on foot.
The hotel exceeded our expectations and we were delighted with all aspects of our stay. We were only sorry we were only there for one night as we would have loved to sit in the bar and the lounge, but we just didn’t have the time. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. David the Manager really made us feel welcome and we chatted a few times during our stay. His knowledge of the town, and his recommendation of a place to get our evening meal was very helpful. Our room was well furnished, comfortable and warm and we would certainly like to come back again.
We honestly can’t think of anything.
We were welcomed warmly by David the manager who had the perfect blend of friendliness and professionalism. Nothing was too much trouble. He lit the real fire and made the place feel homely and cosy. We wanted Bloody Marys and they did not have tomato juice in but he asked the chef to buy some on his way in so that we could have what we wanted. Excellent service! The room was extremely comfortable and tastefully decorated with a newly furnished bathroom. The breakfast was outstandingly good. The full Scottish was perfectly cooked and the fruit salad was poppingly fresh and the best I’ve ever had.
Location, staff, charm

Beautiful location great for the ferry terminal. Only a short walk from the train station. The rooms were warm, comfortable and spotless. The staff were outstanding with their professionalism and friendliness.
Bar drinks were expensive
Our winter visit to Oban and the Manor House is a highlight of our year and once again the Hotel did not disappoint in any way. A warm welcome as always and after settling into our cosy well-appointed room for the weekend, we enjoyed friendly chat with our host in the Bar with a local beer. Visitors to the Hotel will enjoy the excellent view of Oban harbour from the Bar & Lounge; this year the seasonal ‘Oban Wheel’ could be seen across the bay, adding to the festive atmosphere. Particularly appealing is the fact that the open fire in the lounge is lit not matter how many guests are staying and it is a great welcome back to the hotel after a day or evening out. A good selection of quality whiskies were available from the bar so a quality dram by the fire is a fine end to the day. Breakfast was excellent on both mornings, as was the personal service. We particularly liked our beautifully prepared Boiled Egg and Soldiers! We highly recommend The Manor House for a traditional Scottish welcome, fine food and cosy ambience.
The room was beautiful and cozy. The staff members were very helpful and friendly..
Staff were friendly and very helpful.
Excellent breakfast included in room price. £130 per night or £140 per night with free cancellation for our stay (off season)
Good location close to town centre, though not in town.
Didn't have dinner as menu limited at this time of year, but plenty options nearby.
Excellent choice for breakfast at the manor house. Over the 2 nights we tried the full scottish breakfast, savoury pancakes and smoked haddock. All were of high standard.
Nothing to complain about.
