Quiet location away from city noice
Old rooms, barking dogs, cats jumping on tables and smell of old cat pee down stairs. Staff did not speak english

This is old style luxury, gives you the feeling of living in the compound of an elegant and welcoming Balinese family. Very friendly and warm. If you like a more modern, sterile place, this wouldn't be ideal, since it hasn't been updated recently but that gives it the charm that I like so much.

The staff were amazing, cleaned our room and made us coffee every morning. The rooms are beautiful, big and with a stunning view over the town. Very clean and comfortable. We ended up staying an extra night even. Location is great to town.
Shower curtain was slightly mouldy but everything else was wonderful.

Great experience to live with a Balinese family. The owner grandma is a very friendly lady. She speaks good english and shares her experiences and interesting stories. Highly recommended if you want to experience living in a Bali household, while having your full privacy. The place is quite big with friendly dogs, cats and even has a fishpond with a turtle. Will love to stay here again when I come back to ubud.
A former palace, now owned by a matriarch and lived in by her extended family.
The property is a series of separate quarters used by the family (I heard and saw one son and grandson). The guest accommodation is a bedroom with bathroom attached.
The grounds are repeat with Balinese gardens and water features.

The staff was wonderful and easy to handle. The room was super clean.
