Would stay again
Pros:

Wonderfully clean rooms and bathrooms, which were separate. Friendly welcome. Nice to be in a country hotel that has kept its feel and is comfy but not 'done up'. Good beer. Welcome heating throughout. Great view from Guest lounge. Close to ferry terminal (5 mins walk)

Cons:

Beds not too comfortable.

Great location, nice and clean, friendly staff
Pros:

Loved the location. So clean! Large room. Breakfast was good and loved the extra touch of some fresh cherries.
Guest lounge very comfortable and the renovations completed this far are great. Love the art work.

Cons:

Was a little nervous leaving car out on the road but that’s only because we were used to all the crime up north 😆

They charged me a surcharge of $30.80 on top of what I was quoted by you. Angry. Payed $800.80nz mean't to pay 770.00nz
Also found eating venues shut to early with daylight savings.

mixed feelings, but overall positive
Pros:

We booked three rooms and two of them were the same (while I thought I booked 3 the same rooms) these two belong in the positive box. The rooms had enough space, there own tab with little sink, big windows, everything you wanted. And we slept amazing on the beds.

Cons:

The third room seemed to be on the side that was not renovated yet. I think that they were busy renovating the place. A few toilets and showers didnt work for that reason. And so this room didnt even have proper closing window frames, so old that the wind could blow freely through. The bed in this room wasnt great either and the whole room just seemed old and not so nice.

My stay at the eagle.
Pros:

Kitchen dining room areas were very nice. Room was comfortable would stay again if opportunity arrives.

Cons:

some of the amenities were out of order eg laundry, shower, toilets.
