The location in the heart of the GalleFort was really convenient, and I was very impressed that the hotel reserved me a car parking space right in front of it (I guess that I was lucky). The breakfast and coffee were really good, though maybe we could have something other than Nescafe in the rooms. I liked the attempt to be zero plastic in the rooms. The staff were very friendly, helpful and relaxed and the ambience of the room, the balcony and the public spaces was lovely.
The only thing that might need some improvement is the crooner who was billed as "live music". We would have stayed and had dinner that evening, but with a live jazz band a block away the Merchant's music could not compete. The piped music during breakfast was sooo much better! I am also sad that there are no downstair rooms or a lift because it precludes those requiring mobility assistance from staying.

The rooms are absolutely incredible, especially the upper suite. Mr. Chamika was wonderful, and all the staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming throughout our stay.
The breakfast was definitely one of the highlights, and the quality of the bedsheets was exceptional. Overall, a truly wonderful hotel with beautiful rooms, great service, and so many thoughtful details. I would happily stay here again.
The only downside was the strong smell coming from the neighbouring hotel’s waste area, which was quite unpleasant at times. Some of the lower rooms also had a noticeable smell of food, as they are located quite close to the kitchen extraction.

Location
The response was very poor and communication was inadequate. The bathroom had a strong, unpleasant odor. Food presentation was acceptable, but the dishes lacked flavor. Considering the high prices, the food is not recommended
Super location. Lovely staff and great food
The hot water system in the “Villa” accommodation (away from the main hotel) is extremely noisy making it difficult to sleep
