The family are so nice and accommodating. The food was delicious and I felt looked after. I couldn't do the hike due to bad weather, but Hong still managed to take me on a long walk around villages and to see some beautiful views. It was really appreciated 😊
The most magical place in Sapa/Lao chai, no joke The glass windows and the views of the rice fields, mountains, and nearby villages are insane - from your bed and in the living/dining room too. The host family are the best, helpful in every way, warm, kind and loved talking to each one of them. Highly recommend for those who want a taste of paradise! Also the dogs are adorable :)
Friendly family hoat.
We had a great room with amazing views of the rice terraces and a large balcony with hammock. Unfortunately our weather wasn't that great, but waking up with that view is a great experience. The family that runs it is very kind. The short free hike that the son offers around the area is highly recommended. The breakfast and especially the family dinners were very delicious. Some of the best food we've had on our 3-month trip.
I would recommend placing closed bins in the bathroom for toilet paper because you cannot put it in the toilet. It takes some time to get into Sapa over a horrendous road. The beautiful location made it totally worth it for us, but take that into account.
Incredible views, comfortable beds and amazing staff.
Family dinner is delicious and well priced. Enjoyed the hike!
It is about a 20 min drive from Sapa town, but that's what you sign up for. It's both a positive and negative.
I had an amazing stay here and kept extending as I didn't want to leave! The family is lovely and welcoming, the family dinner is a nice way to meet people and eat delicious home cooked food and the views are incredible - the pictures don't do it justice! Thanks for an amazing stay, I would definitely come back :)
amazing food, really nice hosts and great beautiful rooms
Amica House is one of those rare places where intangible things mean so much more than anything else. It is not a five star hotel, but provides a five star experience. Every night the homestay hosts family dinners for all its guests from around the world. It is a wonderful way to gain insight into other cultures and to pick up travelling tips and stories. The home cooked meals are prepared by mother Hong (with the assistance of her two sons) and were some of the best meals we have eaten in Vietnam. She also uses a local taxi service which is even cheaper than Grab. Amica House provides delicious breakfasts in the room rate, as well as a free trek with son Minh. Private rooms provide heating and are well furnished. If you are looking for a more authentic experience on the outskirts of Sapa, look no further than this wonderful home away from home.
There is nothing NOT to like unless you come looking for a five star hotel in a more remote local village. This is for those looking for a more authentic homestay experience in the rice paddies and not in highly touristy Sapa.
The view through the window (we had a room with a balcony). Cute dogs and kitten. Very nice lady owner (speaks perfectly English, is very helpful), also family dinners and delicious breakfast.
If you want an authentic and homey experience I’d definitely choose this place. The rooms are basic but nice and have everything you need including window overlooking the fields. It’s a bit cold in winter but there’s an electric heater and blankets.
What really makes this place is the amazing family and host who are so friendly and helpful with everything.
The family meal in the evening is such a nice way to meet other travellers and I had the best days here.
The location is about 8km from centre of Sa Pa and in a nice area for walking and hiking.
