This hotel is a hidden gem within the Cwebe/Dwesa Nature Reserves. There is plenty of activities on offer, the food is delicious and the staff is very friendly and welcoming - would definitely recommend staying here!! We‘ll be back :)
The location is amazing a bit of challenge to get there, you need a high clearance car, but the location and food was amazing. And the staff were very accomodating.
The food was amazing and I really enjoyed the additional activities like hiking and canoeing. If the weather was better I would have definitely opted for a horse ride as well. The staff were also fantastic and extremely helpful with everything.
I wished there was a fridge in the room. Due to our travel plans it would have been great if there was a fridge to use for our food which we needed for our next destination. I'd also recommend taking bug spray if you like hiking. The biting flies were quite vigorous.
Beautifull place, bad roads
Food, nature
The food was great and the staff really helpful and friendly. Basic rooms that were clean and comfortable. The facilities provide all that you need.
It would have been helpful to have been warned about the state of some of the roads on the way there, although we were in a 2x4 and managed. The walks could be better signposted and maintained if possible.
Breakfast was excellent. Basil had a special breakfast for us on the second day and that was excellent ! A real feast! Thanks you Basil!!!
Nothing! Everything we liked.
What a beautiful place to escape to! The hotel is has such a lovely atmosphere with friendly staff. The location is beautiful and there's loads to keep you busy. The food is really, really good and we bought some raw honey from the chef! Super comfy bed, with a nice private space outside. Highly recommended!
A small fridge in the room would be helpful as we were travelling with perishables.
Fantastic location, the rolling seas just a short walk at the edge of the property. Great bar & restaurant with great dinner at night with the best SA wine. Enjoyed our post dinner drinks with Basil & the Manager who had just returned with supplies. That 10 year old Glenmorangie was excellent. 🥃 👍✔️.
Our vehicle, not an SUV made the trip in & out from the ‘tar’ road interesting. Basil gave us a shorter route out, thanks for that 🙏. Those dry river bridges truck but we persevered. Will no doubt improve year on year as they are tarring more as we drove out. Well worth the effort.
