Einfach alles.
We had an amazing stay at Onpoint! From the very first point of contact, everything was well organised and seamless. Home from home. Comfortable warm and friendly atmosphere, amazingly comfortable beds! My boys preferred the slopes at Madarao too, easy 15 min walk to bar and restaurants and slopes, even in the snow! Hot tip, book in for the home cooked Japanese dinners, they were awesome. Loved it, we'll be back xx
There's nothing to dislike!
The owners are absolutely lovely hosts and extremely hospitable to our many requests and asks for recommendations. The lodge has a great big fireplace where guests can hangout with other guests or staff at night as well. Snack and drinks bar (sake, wine, craft beers, umeshu, you name it) variety is on point. We didn't get the dinner set but daily breakfast was always super fresh and featured their amazing freshly baked bread.
The lodge is just 2 mins drive away from Madarao ski resort and town centre which is very convenient, but visitors are advised to get appropriate tires and vehicles if they're coming in winter as the roads get heavily snowed in.
100/100 will definitely stay there again.
We came in winter so temperatures were freezing, the lodge had one heated toilet near the main entrance but no heated toilets in the rooms so that was a bit of a bummer.
Cosy and homely feel, just what we were looking for to unwind for a few days.
Justin and Kaori are very sincere hosts and sensitive to guests' needs.
Good sized rooms with ample heating and super comfortable beds.
Meal were delicious and something to look forward to every day.
Good and quiet location, in the woods slightly away from the village but still very accessible.
Juno & Tito were an extra bonus ;-)
It's really hard to find anything not to like! Maybe the bathrooms could be a bit bigger, but Justin already mentioned he is working on modernizing them.
Great hospitality, lovely lodge, home cooked meals were delicious, everything was literally onpoint! Best kept secret is their craft cola - be sure to order a Hare Cola soda after a long day at the slopes
Just not used to the non heated toilet bowls
Amazing place to stay with a great atmosphere and dedicated and genuinely caring staff.
I cannot fault my stay - both the service and facilities.
Justin and Kaori were such amazing hosts. The property is the perfect blend of hotel and lodge. Great for card games with friends after a day of skiing or having or just hanging out as a couple with a few drinks by the fire. The home cooked meals were healthy, warming and delicious. This stay was the perfect end to our trip after travelling for a month we had the best time.
Bathroom was quite small but not surprising for Japan as most bathrooms are small in Japan.
Beautiful appointed lodge with amazing eye for details. Especially the fire place is the perfect place to wind down after a nice day of skiing.
Walking to the slopes takes a bit but the host is more than happy to shuttle you by car.
Sometimes on a trip you find a place that is good for the soul, the people, the surroundings and the food - Onpoint is one such place. Justin and Kaori, the wonderful hosts of this inviting and comfortable haven in the snowy forest, welcome you into their home with kind, helpful and unobtrusive service. The quality and presentation of the home cooked food was amazing- everything we imagined fresh, local Japanese cuisine to be. We were set up for cold, snowy mornings with warming soups, home baked breads, eggs, pancakes and then looked forward to returning in the late afternoons to the relaxing lounge by the fire with board games, evening beers and drinks and delicious, dinners prepared with much love and attention. This stage of our Japan trip was our favourite, not just for the great skiing and deep snow but for the genuine and dedicated hospitality of Onpoint. We shall be back to explore its surroundings more and we wish Justin and Kaori ongoing success with their fabulous venture.
The location in the woods, the rooms, the common places. The home cooked meals and the amazing warmth of Justin and Kaori.
スタッフの親切さと愛想の良さ。
お部屋や宿泊施設のお洒落感。
ご飯の美味しさ。
アメニティがもうちょっとあると過ごしやすかったです!
The proprietors, Kaori-san and Justin, take PRIDE in their mission and truly CARE about their guests. The comfortable and stylish lodge, home cooked food and other like-minded guests allowed my son and I to bond. Plus PS4 and one coin micro brews.
Super stay at Onpoint!
We regularly visit Japan during snow season and this place was sensational.
Onpoint is located close to Madarao ski resort but situated in a secluded forest. The lodge has been beautifully renovated throughout. The rooms are a good size with ensuite bathrooms (a must for us).
The food here is next level. Kaori and Justin put a lot effort into their breakfasts and evening meals. You would be forgiven for thinking it is food prepared by trained chefs….amazing.
Finally, perhaps the most important aspect…the service. Justin and Kaori booked restaurants, made recommendations and offered to help us out whenever we needed. We are so grateful to have met them and their beautiful furry kids - Tito and Juno…we will definitely stay with them again.
nothing
The hosts were incredible!
So accommodating and incredibly helpful with anything or any information you needed about the town.
They took me to get my snow gear fitted, where to get my ski pass and showed me all the local restaurants.
The lodge itself is so cosy and such an amazing place to relax. It was everything I was hoping for.
If you want one of the best snow experiences of your life, this place is a must.
There was nothing unlikeable or poor at this lodge.
Exceeded my expectations! Justin and Kaori were super welcoming and gave lots of good tips about the area, dining and where to find great runs in Madarao and Tangram. Kaori’s bread and cakes were to die for! Would definitely recommend this place and wouldn’t hesitate to return when I’m back in Madarao.
Would’ve been nice to have heated toilet seats but it’s certainly not a deal breaker. You just get use to them if you travel to Japan frequently.
beautifully designed, great hosts, tasty breakfasts!
Beautiful place to stay; very relaxing and Kaori and Justin made you feel so welcome!
