Location is amazing
Room window propped open as latch broken for it to stay open so couldn’t really get great air. Very hot in room. Also bathroom smells of drains. Had a drink outside of an evening. Lovely. Came back in half an hour later to get a bottle of water for the room. Everyone gone. No warning. Breakfast is only served 8.30-9.30 on a Tuesday. No problem. Arrive at 9.19 to be told very rudely that the chef wants to go home 🤷♀️. Menu shoved at me. Back within seconds to ask what I want. I come to jersey approx 10 times a year and regularly have breakfast here. Won’t be happening again. Poor attitude towards a paying guest. Definitely won’t be staying again. Just for context. I never write a bad review. If anything I’m always fully appreciative of everyone who works in hospitality so it’s took me a lot to write this 😢
Easy check in process.
Hotel room and bathroom were very clean, constantly restocked and cleaner was very efficient.
Nice addition having a kettle in the rooms.
Breakfast portions were plentiful and very friendly, attentive and helpful staff.
Amazing location. Did not struggle to find a parking space once.
Lots of hangers to hang your clothes up.
Nothing. The only thing I would change is the artwork in the bedrooms. New art would freshen up the rooms perfectly. I cannot fault this hotel though.
Excellent location
The location was excellent, and the room was lovely with an amazing view. We ate in the restaurant and had a really lovely dinner too. Great location for walks.
Nothing, all lovely
Love this hotel. Old world charm with lovely staff. Best breakfast on the island. Perfect location with easy parking right outside. Great bus service a few steps from door. Please don't change anything, it is all good.
Breakfast doesn't start until 8.30 am and it would be nice to have an earlier start but understand that chef has to travel to hotel and breakfast is worth waiting for.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The restaurant had a varied menu and the quality of food was excellent, this being true of breakfast too. We were also offered a packed lunch as our flight was before breakfast on our last morning. Our room was light and airy with a great view over Gorey harbour. We were also allowed to check in although we were an hour earlier than the published check in time
Great location, comfortable bed, very clean room, breakfast was tasty and staff made sure we had enough of everything.
I'm not sure if we just got really unlucky but when we arrived to check-in it was honestly such an unfriendly welcome. The lady looked like she didn't want to be there and we were just an inconvenience. She pretty much threw the keys at us and told us the room number. That was it. No 'welcome, how was your journey: etc.
I then asked what we do about parking as I had read we needed a permit. She rolled her eyes and then went to get a colleague who was thankfully a lot more friendly. He explained how to use the permit and then we were good to go.
I can't stress how important first impressions are! We would have eaten in the restaurant if not for that encounter.
I thought maybe she was just having a bad day but when we saw her in the corridor the next day we barely got a smile.
I feel bad for calling out a particular member of staff but honestly it set our holiday off on a bad foot.
The other members of staff we encountered at breakfast were very nice and accommodating.
The room itself was very basic for what you pay but we were just using it as a base for exploring so weren't in there too much. The shower unit could do with updating.
Small hotel that felt family run in an interesting small coastal town. Comfortable bed and good facilities in the room. The hotel has a restaurant and we ate there and the food was very good. Also had an excellent breakfast!
