Unable to use the gym, no one at reception, not as clean as it should be
Hotel staff were welcoming and friendly.
Room clean and very roomy. Good size with balcony and back entrance available via balcony if required.
Bed good.
Water pressure average. Room temperature hot. No air conditioning.
Room dated. Handles to doors loose. (Bathroom)
Walls needed some tlc. A new paint job.
Especially for the $$ they charged .
I would stay again...nothing i mention is a huge " don't stay here"....just needs a bit of TLC. if certainly wasn't "Grand" as the description says.
Fabulous staff.
Great location.
Room a bit tired. Not great access. Very steep stairwell.
There was no breakfast but several cafes offer this. The hotel is a little tired but pleasant with the rooms away from the busy, rather noisy night time activities. My room had a nice view, good bed and satisfactory bathroom. The hotel is at one end of town however and a bit far from the main action if wanted. No problem if you drive. Parking is not problem in Akaroa.
Anything criticised would be niggling.
Room nice, very active venue socially downstairs, lovely food.
The bright light from the fire exit light was quite annoying overnight. It was like trying to sleep with the light on. Surely it can be toned down or turned off.
Good food nice outlook
Rooms a bit dated no aircon
It was cozy. Enjoyed the warmth of the staff. Had a great location & view
All good.
Nice old pub like feel, friendly and helpful staff, location.
Probably the only thing would be thin walls as you could hear anyone walking past in the hallway, but you sort of expect that in this sort of building.
Lovely location. Very pretty French style village.
Not enough non smoking outdoor eating spaces
Location definitely close to shopping and parks, access to room great from carpark. Food on site. rooms view awesome.
Its old we knew that but wonderful bed and bodywash shampoo were in big bottles on the wall. Good jug, great big coffee cups (hate small milk in caplets). Good parking too.
Room wasn't serviced the time we there did our own rubbish, no clean towels etc. Tried to find someone the day we left to tell them toilet cistern kept jamming no one around to tell. Kitchen extractor went all day and late night if food being cooked for guests slight smell if no wind.
The size of the room was excellent, the patio and the bedding was comfortable
The noise from the people next door all night, but we understand that a building of that age does not have soundproof walls, and the fire exit lights were in your face all night.
Good location, and convenient onsite parking
The facilities are definitely quite dated and could do with a lick of paint
No breakfast available.
Good view across new sports facilities to the hills.
My room needed updating. Noisy plumbing throughout the night. The back door onto the balcony didn’t lock, anyone could, have walked in. The shower was very basic, bathroom small anyway. TV very limited, if at all.
