Perfect Costa Rica retreat

Pros:

This place is truly magical. Hidden in the rainforest, it is simple, charming, and absolutely fantastic. You can listen to the sounds of the forest, observe animals, and even spot a sloth.

What makes it even more special are the owners. Giovanni and his family are wonderful people—we feel so happy to have met them. We spent five nights at Guapote Lodge, which gave us time for deeper conversations and a truly meaningful experience. They are such warm and genuine people.

The food is absolutely amazing as well!

Thank you for everything—we highly recommend this place!

Lugar perfecto
Pros:

Un lugar realmente hermoso, con una atención excepcional. Don Geovanny y su esposa te hacen sentir como en casa, son muy amables y siempre están dispuestos a darte recomendaciones sobre qué hacer y cómo aprovechar al máximo la experiencia. Sin duda, es el sitio perfecto para descansar, desconectarse y disfrutar plenamente de la naturaleza. ¡De verdad lo disfruté muchísimo!

Friendly place with a great breakfast and enjoyed my stay
Pros:

Great breakfast and lovely surrounds to walk around the property and see some wildlife

Cons:

It wasn't clear that it was glamping - I thought it was a cabin. I didn't mind but felt it could have been clearer. That meant the price was a touch higher than I would have paid for glamping!

Pros:

Zeer aardige gastheer.

Cons:

We hadden pech vanwege het slechte weer. Hierdoor was alles vochtig waardoor we niets konden drogen. Dit zegt meer iets van het klimaat dan de accomodatie.
De accomodatie was prima.

Un petit paradis sur terre
Pros:

Un endroit idyllique et un accueil au top. Le boss Giovanni est absolument génial. Il décrocherait la lune pour vous s'il le pouvait... l'environnement est tout bonnement magnifique. Les dîners et petits déjeuners sont exceptionnels. La nourriture copieuse et excellente.

Absolutely stunning accommodation , in the middle of nature. Great breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. The host is absolutely attentive , helpful. He showed us sloth locations and gave us some tips.
The rooms are very clean , nicely smelling towels. The lady who made us breakfast was so nice and tried to Google translate all her questions for us as we don't speak Spanish. Definitels recommend.

We had fantastic days at Guapata Lodge. The standard is admittedly very simple, but the location, the nature, and the hospitality are amazing. Giovanni showed us sloths in the branches right above our heads. He gave us the very best tips on what we should see, called his contacts and arranged activities for us even though we were far too late, and he was always present in a way that truly made an impression.

The highlight of our stay was New Year’s Eve 2025. When we entered the lodge restaurant that evening, Giovanni and his family had surprisingly decorated the entire place. A table was reserved for us, extra waitstaff had been hired, and a DJ played music for dancing, sing-alongs, and competitions. We will never forget this evening, which was full of joy and warmth—and we will never forget Giovanni.

Giovanni und sein Team sind herausragende Gastgeber! Die familiäre Stimmung ist definitiv das was es ausmacht. Das Grundstück ist sehr naturnah und ruhig. Das Essen im Restaurant ist auch super. Vielen Dank für das lustige und schöne Silvester! Wir sind sehr happy das wir es hier verbracht haben. Danke an Giovanni und sein Team, welche sich große Mühe gegeben haben!

Es gab nur kaltes Wasser (aber das wussten wir davor)
Tipp: Lasst das Licht über Nacht im Badezimmer an, sonst kommen Fledermäuse rein (ist auch nichts was der Gastgeber verbessern hätte könnte :D )
