Excellent vacation at Dutch Bungalow
Pros:

Excellent property, old vintage charm with modern amenities. Large size rooms. Excellent food with variety of cuisine. Staff were very friendly and supportive. Would recommend this property for a lovely feel of Fort Kochi and its ancient Dutch heritage

Cons:

Some problem with hot water in our bathroom - minor issue. Perhaps the bedding/mattress can be updated

Hôtel parfait pour découvrir Cochi même plusieurs jours

Good quality option in Ft Kochi
Pros:

Good location and easy walk to fort Kochi sights. Quieter part of town compared to the center. Eager staff ready to help.

Cons:

Bathroom was tired and a little smelly. Could easily add a table or place to lay out toiletries (it’s quite spacious) but instead there is just a ledge in the shower which is not ideal. Pool could be warmer to be more refreshing.

Very disappointing stay and definitely not a 4 star experience
Pros:

The room was enormous and the location was very central.

Cons:

The room was ridiculously noisy and I got no sleep on both nights. The traffic noise from outside was constant and so loud even with noise cancelling earbuds, quiet meditation music and a sleeping tablet I got no rest. I have travelled to India on many occasions and understand the activity and chaos of its cities but I never expected the level of disruption I experienced at this property. There were two fans in the room and both would only go on full speed so were too noisy to use. The AC unit would not adjust so it blew directly on me all night. The bathroom was dated, dirty and lacking in basic amenities. Simple things like a shelf or hook were nonexistent and I nearly fell several times on the slippery shower base. The service in the restaurant for breakfast was poor with no offer of tea or coffee on the second day and no offer of live station items on either day. I only realised there was a live station when I left the restaurant on my second day and saw somebody else ordering. The breakfast buffet was small, unappetising and the hot items I tried were all cold. It took me over half an hour to reach room service on my second night when I wanted to order some dinner. Overall it was an extremely disappointing stay and I could not wait to leave.

Good choice overall
Pros:

Good location in a heritage building. Quite a small hotel, with a nice feel, but with the facilities of a much bigger place. Good restaurant/ breakast area under a verandah next to pool. Central and close to sights of Fort Kochi but slightly away from the really busy part of town. Friendly, helpful staff. Very good breakfast.

Cons:

Management messaged to ask for a full prepayment three or four weeks before stay because it was Xmas, despite us having a booking confirmed months in advance and secured with a credit card. They dropped the matter when I wrote pointing out the request was contrary to the Ts&Cs in the Booking.com reservation. But it gave an uncomfortable feeling which marred an otherwise positive stay. Suggest the management be honest right up front if they want prepayment for bookings at peak periods.
