Warmer water from shower and plug for the bath
The breakfast was fine. The menu for evening meal looked ok, but I didn't eat there.
The bedroom and bathroom have definitely seen better days!
The bedroom curtains were hanging off the pole. There was a broken bedside wall light - balanced against the wall, which fell off when touched. No plug in the bath - so no way to enjoy a bath. A broken flush handle on the toilet.
The bathroom was very cold, the radiator made little difference. The water in the shower was tepid - which, together with the cold bathroom, made for a very chilly start to my day!
The dining room was cold and draughty at breakfast time. There was a very small blow heater trying to make a difference but was totally unfit for purpose for the size of the room.
This should definitely not be rated as a 4 star hotel.
Beautiful homely accommodation with very friendly staff. Our room was very spacious and loved the bathroom.
Comfy bed. Veggie sausages and that gluten free was catered for. The pods.
The initial room was freezing cold on arrival, the furniture was strangely placed (armchair and mirror blocking the wardrobe and extra bed and hoover left outside door, made it feel like a storage space rather than a guest room. Our room swap then was ok but the curtains are hanging off the rail, the bathroom doesnt open fully, the shower was cold and the drains smelt very bad. The glass bins were collected or something just outside our window and was very noisy at 6am. Dirty glass of wine given with lipstick marks and also a dirty towel stained with ? Mascara, in room. Also, fruit salad tasted like onion
Excellent food. Good location with great views across the river. Facilities good, large room and bathroom with great shower. All staff really friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking and good access for a wheelchair user.
Water only lukewarm in the evening, not hot enough for a bath or shower, but this could have been an isolated incident. Sheets and towels seemed to be changed every day, which is nice but unnecessary!
Good location & very welcoming
We stayed in room 203, Junior Suite with sea view which was a lovely spacious room, comfy beds and excellent bathroom with stand alone bath, shower and nice products. Hotel itself is a lovely period property with original features and modern touches. Plenty of nooks and cosy spaces for a small hotel and lovely gardens to explore. Breakfast was fresh & tasty.
The carpet in the room could do with replacing.
Lovely building. Food and drink was good. Staff friendly and attentive.
In need of some cosmetic updates in rooms. Dirty carpet stains in bedroom. Furniture a bit worn and shabby. Promoted as a boutique hotel but I would not agree with that description. Country house style would be more apt
The staff were friendly and the breakfast was amazing.
Our room was very dirty. Also someone had 3 dogs next door which were howling all evening. Bed was 2 single beds pushed together. Rock solid. The walls were dirty in our room and there was also only luke warm water for a bath. Lights missing bulbs. Mould in shower. Sink hanging off wall.
Location charm fantastic views beautiful gardens lovely large room
Nothing
El edifici es molt xulo i el jardí encara mes
Really lovely property, lots of character.
Could have done with a really good clean….
Bedroom carpet needed a good clean/replacing
Table in bedroom water damaged.
Thick dust on dressing table
Old reed diffuser empty and discolored.
Sanitary product (not used) found under the bath
Dirty glass in bathroom
Mould in the corner of the bathroom ceiling.
Dining room table cake crumbs from day before on the table
Old food stains on the green fabric table runner
Lots of dust and a hair on the bay window where we were sitting.
We had a lovely nite at this beautiful old house. Excellent mushroom and truffle soup in the comfortable bar. Our room was very large with a nice view over the gardens. Very good breakfast next morning. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend Taypark House.
Petit déjeuner très bon très très copieux
Dîner un peu trop copieux et le sunday roast à mon goût un peu trop cuit
The property is a beautiful old retirement home. The rooms are huge. Accommodation is very comfortable with an extra large comfortable bed. Dinner was great, breakfast ok. No airport noise as reviewed by others.
I note other reviews about the property being in need of renovation…while this is apparent in some areas it did not detract from our overall experience.
Staff were friendly, and went out of our way to make us comfortable.
Where to park wasn't entirely clear as there is a sign on the road near another cottage, but the sign to go down the hill to the main house said something about extra parking. Someone from the upper cottage came out and told us where to go, but I'm sure that is annoying for them.
The location was good to walk into Dundee. Our room was very comfy with a huge bathroom. The included breakfast was very tasty and plentiful and typically Scottish. Staff were very friendly and we felt like we were staying in a castle. We would thoroughly recommend staying at Tay Park house and we would certainly stay again. It exceeded our expectations.
