Got some problems with the door lock
The Hotel Gold is a perfect example about how the low rate charged may make it a good lodging option. On the other hand, if you expect a hotel to have certain amenities and it doesn't, then a low lodging rate is still too high.....Positives include a reasonably sized room and bathroom, good wi-fi, fair view out the room window, good heating and a really nice supermarket right across the street.
When entering the hotel there is nobody at the reception desk. Normally that would not be a problem as the woman staffer is usually around somewhere. But the phones at the reception desk don't have a dial tone and the # provided on the wall for reception doesn't work. I suggest loudly playing the alarm on your phone to get attention.....Location is on the outskirts of Gyumri and the bistro on the site was closed as of this writing. Probably this hotel is not a good option if you are without a vehicle or don't want to drive into Gyumri.....The mattress is horrible. I'm not particular about such things and I have a good back. But I felt the full force of the bed springs and I had to lay my sleeping bag on the bed to cushion the blow.....The shower did not work at all. The overhead nozzle couldn't work because the gizmo activating it was broken off and the hand-held nozzle had a hole in it which allowed the water to escape before it got to the nozzle....There was a kettle but there was not a single cup provided. Along with a closet without clothes hangers, a kettle without cups is something that frosts me and indicates the hotel isn't even trying.....I won't stay here again but at least I'm not out big bucks to learn the hard way.
Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful, I was really happy about my choice and would go back with no doubt.
The room was nice, clean and had enough space, the hotel is well located and a few minutes away from most touristic places.

Location - its almost in the middle of nowhere, on the highway,, there is benzin station next to it and parking for trucks.

In the bathroom maybe from ventillation was heavy smell of tabak. And from that even towels were smelling.
There was only towel for bath, not for hands.
The staff was helpfull, but mostly was not where must be.
Happily the hotel was in Gyumri, which we love very much.

To my surprise, they provide me a wonderful number. I would never have imagined that it would be possible to stay in such a comfortable hotel in Gyumri city for such a price. Everything was clean, the room was big and comfortable, the plains of Gyumri could be seen from the window. I am personally satisfied.
I am not dissatisfied with anything at all, everything was wonderful. I definitely recommend it.
