The staff, the location and a great breakfast!
Small room but I booked a budget single so what do expect for the money.

Location is great. Staff whilst checking in were lovely.
The duvet was terrible. I took off the cover as our room was very hot. The duvet was in a terrible state, shredded/bobbled and dirty.
There is a lot of noise due to traffic, unable to close bathroom window.
The inn has seen better days, needs a refurbishment. The floor is slippy in the breakfast room.
Charming room
Access to room a little hard for 70 year olds to get to; same issue with bathroom/shower. Street noise with open windows made sleeping a bit difficult --

We've stayed before, so we knew it was an old building which I love. It not to far from the shops and pubs.

Really lovely staff, some of beds were comfortable… bedding was lovely and clean, nice quality. Room was well lit and facilities were as stated.
Wasn’t dirty but wasn’t as clean as could have been… cobwebs above heads at breakfast, air vent in bathroom was grim.. floor needed hoovering and in need of replacing. Breakfast was minimal.. could be beautiful and some areas have been cleaned up. Plastic tiles on wall in ladies wasn’t finished at corners so just exposed with bits hanging, holes in ceiling with random wires, sticky sides where you make toast.. Door to family room wasn’t fit for purpose… a door with added plyboard and a dodgy lock. Large piece of something placed over drawers to give a larger top surface but overhangs massively at just the right height for a toddler to catch on corner… no plugs near bed for phone charger. Bottom bunk mattress was in need of replacement but darent use top bunk as very wobbly! This is on its way to being a lovely little place but it’s in need of finishing touches.

The rooms were dirty and the cutlery as breakfast was also dirty. I watched a large dog from the pub, jump up and lick the plates. Unused milk was poured bag into a jug. The room was dirty (cigarette packet and tissue down the back of the radiator), toe nail on the carpet (as well as stains), shower (hot water) didn’t run properly and drainage was non-existent. We didn’t relay our views to the hosts as we read the online negative views too late. We left the room without breakfast (the first morning my son’s spoon was smeared with encrusted stains) which totally put us off eating there. The photos portrayed by the hotel are totally misleading … we should have read the negative views. My son woke up, walked downstairs, to three members of staff sat downstairs vaping.
