We had the absolute best time staying at Hotel Soyokaze! The hospitality shown by Takao and his wife was incredible and we felt very welcomed and right at home from day one. The room was comfortable, cosy and clean and the communal areas were gorgeous. We loved the private onsen after a hard day’s work of snowboarding. The breakfast was delicious with coffee/tea, yoghurt, yakult, cereal, fruit, eggs, sausage, salad and divine bread. We looked forward to the breakfast each day and truly enjoyed the whole experience. Takao kindly picked us up from and dropped us back to the bus station. He also arranged the ski passes for us. Nothing was too hard and he was so helpful. Such a beautiful spot in the wonderful Hakuba. We would definitely stay here again - it made our time in Hakuba extra special! Thank you so much! 🥹🏂🙏
Everything was perfect
Nothing
The room sizes were generous for longer stays and the hosts are second to none. Couldn't ask for anything more.
The couple who run the place are lovely and very helpful, they picked us up and dropped us off at the train station, as well as helping us throughout our stay with directions, etc. The room was spacious with a large bed and it was serviced daily replacing the towels, water, etc. The private onsen was easy to book and was beautiful, very relaxing after snowboarding.
nothing to dislike
The owner Takao was so helpful and kind.
This place is a little gem! The owners are so nice and helpful. A very homely feel. Comfortable rooms. A great little private onsen to soak in every day after a day in the mountain. Great location in the heart of echoland. It's the 2nd time we've stayed there and will definitely stay again!
Nothing
Private Onsen was wonderful, no need to worry about traveling to the busy public ones in the area. The owner Takao was very friendly and extremely helpful. Will come back every time I visit Hakuba. Gear room was great, gear would be toasty warm every morning.
don't have one negative thing to say. Maybe not the best place for anyone looking for a party spot. It was nice to come back to a quiet building and rest up for the next day of deeeep deep pow. Takao will also suggest which mountain will be riding the best if you ask him.
Takao and his wife were amazing. They made our stay very comfortable and provided all the info we needed on the area. They went out of their way to help us.

My partner and I had a great stay here. Excellent location, the friendliest hosts, spacious rooms and the onsen was a lovely touch. Would highly recommend!
The hotel location is very conveniently situated in Echoland which is near Ski Rental shops and many restaurants. The bus stop for the free resort shuttle is also just a 1 minute walk right outside the hotel. Hotel was clean, cosy and the free daily private onsen was perfect after a day on the slopes. There is a storage area in the basement with lockers for your equipment and coin laundry/dryer with detergent provided.
Lastly, Takao-San and his wife are incredibly warm and friendly people that made this one of our best stays in Japan. Takao-San drove us to and from the JR station and helped us with our bulky baggage and skis. You can tell from his energy that he is really passionate about providing good service for his guests. We were especially heartened on the last day when his wife even came out of the property to bid us farewell and send us off! True hospitality like this really made this establishment stand out.
Highly recommended!
It was perfect! Except the price was a bit on the high side probably due to weekend booking during ski season and we booked at the last minute. I'm sure there are better deals if you book earlier.
The hosts of Hotel Soyokaze are so friendly and caring about the guests. I would stay again for them alone! The hotel is right in the centre of Echoland in Hakuba Valley, a minute from the free shuttle bus to various skiing options, the ski hire places, and restaurants. We did not have a car so this place being so central was great for us. We were in a triple room which was an excellent size for our family. We chose to pay for breakfast most days, and it was very good. Would definitely recommend this place.
The proprietors of the establishment went out of their way to make us feel special, from the first moment to the last. Their breakfast was varied, well priced and delicious. The onsen was beautiful. The room was spacious enough for 3 people. And above all of that was the location. You couldn't get a more convenient location for ski rental, shuttle buses, restaurants and bars.
Such beautiful family owned hotel, excellent service and so kind and helpful
Breakfast was awesome, and so friendly always wanting to help, definitely stay here again
