Wife and I LOVED our stay the view and everything about the place was beautiful we would book a room again
Bar closed at 9, on weekends maybe stay open till 1130
We loved this hotel! It was a great stop on our road trip along the Eastern Sierras. It was conveniently located right in downtown and next door to the famous Erick Schats bakery. We loved staying on the creekside (recommend requesting this) -- it was lovely having a balcony along the babbling creek and watching the birds. We had pizza and drinks at the hotel bar/restaurant which was great. Room was clean, big, and the bed was very comfortable. If we're ever back in Bishop, we would definitely stay again!
I can't think of anything. Truly a great stay.
Breakfast was good, the hot tub and sauna were nice. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The place looks amazing as well. Great place that is centrally located.
The bed just didn't do it for me.
Rooms are a bit old. The AC does not cool properly. Its a bit too expensive for what it is.
Great location
We always stop off at this hotel on our annual trip up to Mammoth! The grounds are beautiful, the staff is friendly and helpful, the bar area has great live entertainment on Friday nights, the beds are comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast is delicious, making this hotel worth the price. You will not be disappointed.
We choose to stay here for our 3 days of skiing in Mammoth. We usually stay in Mammoth. The drive in the morning to ski is a great way to wake up and well worth the savings in per night stay. Food is generally better and less expensive in Bishop than in Mammoth. The hottub is clean and not crowded for the apre ski day. The staff are very friendly and happy.
The staff is amazing. We had a U-Haul trailer and they helped accommodate parking for us. The hotel is so warm & cozy. My favorite place to stay in Bishop. And nothing like the Mountain View’s!!
Rooms are very nice. Comfortable beds...nice ! Location is a perfect place to break up the drive to June lake. Love the creek right outside our balcony room
I stayed one night with a friend in a double queen room based on a previous stay in 2024. Despite it being January, the hotel was booked solid. It really is the nicest place in town. The grounds are very pretty with the creek running through it and seating areas around cafe tables and fire pits. The room faced the Sierras and bowling alley (eat there -- it's very good!). Erick Schat's Bakkery is right next door (yum!). We'll be back when we're headed up/down Hwy 395 again.
Such a serene setting. Great service, nice wine bar and breakfast had a good fruit selection. And of course, being on the creek was great…. Good quality jacuzzi and steam room the Wayfare
No bathtub
The hotel is a gem in Bishop, the atmosphere is great the hotel is very quiet there is no road noise at all. The staff are exceptional, the grounds are beautiful with a creek running right through the middle of the property, Rooms are spacious, we make a point of staying at the Wayfinder every time we travel from No. Calif to So. Calif. Best Hotel on the block...Highly recommend.
Really pretty location.
50$ for early check in, kinda pricey especially when the room wasn’t ready when they said it would be for charging so much.
Breakfast
Overall it was nice
It’s nice property but we only slept there. We didn’t have time to enjoy by the creek.
So, for us it’s expensive.
Hotel heeft niet op gereageerd op onze vraag om de boeking te annuleren of wijzigen naar aanleiding van de zware storm waarvoor de authoriteiten a severe saferty warning hebben uitgezonden
The average reviews for this place are too high. This is a 3 at best. Sadly there are not great options in Bishop which probably influences the high scores. New ownership has definitely gone through some cost cutting measures from the time it was the Creekside Inn. I’ll start with the clear misses then follow up with the good.
Misses:
*The HVAC truly sucks and is unacceptable. I’ve stayed here a few times and this is consistent in each room. The thermostat is mounted right by the heating/AC unit so it’s probably getting a false reading for the bed area of the room. That’s a problem but there is something else going too. I set the thermostat to 67 and the room didn’t actually feel any cooler than 71. Next night I set it to 60 and it still felt like 71. Next night I turned it off and the room still felt like 71. Mind you, this is the dead of winter and it was 30 degrees outside. WTF? It was just warm enough that I had trouble sleeping.
*Breakfast:
This used to be a solid decent breakfast. The scrambled eggs were the only adequate item. Everything else was bulk frozen and or reheated bland mush. The coffee was even watered down nonsense. No flavor. Plan to eat breakfast elsewhere if you stay here.
*TV
Ok, I don’t ask for much here since I typically bring my own streaming device. The TV itself is a decent LG but they have a coaxial cable feeding into it with circa 1992 low def picture quality. The input is locked on the coax input so good luck trying to change the input to hdmi. The front desk has 5, yes 5 total tv remotes that have the input change function. You gotta ask for one and they keep track of them on a clip board up front. They were already taken on our first night so we were SOL.
*Towels: felt like 60 grit sandpaper.
*Lighting: Too dark and it’s almost all lamps. The dark paint on walls and ceiling doesn’t help.
The Good:
Room: the bed was comfortable. The plumbing fixtures are nice updated Moen faucets that work great. Dual sinks are nice when two of you are getting ready in the morning. Real wood doors and trim are a nice rustic look.
The Property: like others have said, the creek running through the pool area is nice. Spa and sauna after skiing is pleasant.
