Wunderschön gelegen, liebevoll gestaltete Unterkunft mit einem tollen Garten.
Vue incroyable, personnel adorable
Such a wonderful location and the owners were lovely. I would strongly suggest a 4x4 if you are travelling here. Watching the view from the hammocks was such a memorable experience and we'll never forget our stay here.
Lovely friendly staff
Superb views
Great food and service
Intriguing semi outdoor bathroom
Wished it was clearer in English you have to pay everything in cash/ AND no cash point in local town. It really caught us out and caused angst.
The elevated location looking over the mangroves with toucans flying by was fantastic. Very remote and it was the first accommodation actually run by a Costa Rican family. The family was extremely obliging and helpful. They can organize your tours and even drove us down to meet our mangrove boat tour. If you like birds and insects and are looking for a sunset view, it’s ideal.
Depending on your expectations, it is remote and you need to take a short ferry boat trip across the Sierpe river. The 8 km journey is then gravel to the finca. Doable with a 2x4 if it’s not the rainy season. The meal cooked was ok. We were thankful to have food as there is nowhere to go. We had lizards in our room, no problem for us but for some people perhaps… They disappeared in the cracks as soon as we turned up.
We really enjoyed our stay here. It is a mini adventure to get to with the ferry crossing and drive up the gravel road ( which was fun but not too difficult and could be managed even without a 4 X 4 ) The bungalows are simple, but authentic and perfectly comfortable. The balconies are large and private, with amazing views of the mangroves. Lots of birds, and butterflies and the sound of the monkeys in the distance. Great breakfast - loved the pancakes ! Very friendly family owners who were perfect hosts. Good recommendation for a local beach with calm water where we spent a memorable day.
If we are lucky enough to return to the Pacific coast of Costa Rica we will definitely stay here again and hopefully stay longer!
The view over the mangrove swamps from the Finca were spectacular. Family owned and the whole family gave us a warm welcome.
Lots of thought put into the cabins which were a delight. The shaded veranda of our cabin gave us a stunning view. Loved the bathroom. Great place to chill out for an afternoon.
Ferry across the river was a delight and the gravel road to the Finca not too bad in dry season.
Delicious dinner and breakfast. Would recommend the banana smoothies that were gorgeous.
Nice and quiet at night so slept really well.
Highly recommend this Finca.
A very tranquil and beautiful property. It is fairly remote after a graveling somewhat steep drive. If one drives they will to cross on a small ferry which runs 6am-5:30pm. The proprietors do not speak much English but are very lovely people, extremely helpful and will book tours for you. Food was good, fresh and very reasonable. Always a cool breeze in the afternoon, no need for AC.
I am not great in the heat, so it was difficult to hike or walk. Very hilly and too hot for me
A Beautiful Location with Beautiful Views and Totally Immersed in Nature
The fact that we couldn't stay longer
Very welcoming, great service, nice tours, most beautiful Location ❤️
The Hotel can be accessed by a Ferry, afterwards the route is a gravel road but manageble even without 4x4. We are very thankful to them for organising exeptional tours and giving us good food. They are overall very welcoming and helpful hosts.
We highly recommend this accommodation, in peaceful and beautiful surroundings.
The view is amazing with great birding and a lovely communal area and restaurant. The room was comfortable with a great private balcony. Sammy and Gabriel were the perfect hosts and helped with everything we needed.
The tour to Isla del Cano was great and breakfast was really good.
It was 500 colones to get to Sierpe town as a ferry passenger and super easy by leaving the car at the bottom of the road.
A perfect place to relax.
This place would have been a 10/10 for me except the owner wanted to charge me the room rate plus taxes and then the taxes again on top of that...i.e. double tax. I called Booking.com for a second confirmation of the total price and showed all the evidence of the correct charge. After several discussions, I was charged the correct amount but it spoilt the peace for me as I don't expect to negotiate on the correct payment.
I highly recommend staying here but check carefully what you are being charged.
There's no WiFi in the room but available in the communal area.
If you need a hot shower, there is no hot water...it was refreshing to have a cool shower though..
A stunning location. Extraordinary hosts. We spent only one day and night here, passing through, but it might have been our favorite stay of the whole trip.
Finca La Puesta de Sol is an unbelievably special place. The view is to die for, we were all so awed by the the natural beauty of the place. Seeing the Osa Peninsula from so high up was so special. This is a different type of luxury - the cabins are rustic with open mesh windows so you can enjoy the breeze and jungle sounds and are very simple - the luxury comes from its sheer remoteness and natural beauty. You feel on top of a world you never thought still existed. This is a gorgeous place to bring children, perhaps best for slightly older children (ours are 12 and 14). We spent hours watching scarlett macaws and toucans right in front of us. The welcome was warm and Ramon, Marisa and team are such lovely people. The food was fantastic. We enjoyed a choice of two breakfasts from a changing menu. I think most of us went for pancakes with banana, chocolate and nuts. Dinner was really delicious too. The ride in the back of a 4x4 was a really fun way to arrive! They were kind enough to to arrange a very much recommended 3 hour mangrove tour, and the captain dropped us on the right side of the river where we were picked up and taken up the mountain. Exceptional value for money. LOVED IT!
This was our favorite place in our 1 month trip through Costa Rica. The family is so welcoming and we felt right at home. They are really heartwarming people. The view is stunning and the homemade food is also good. A lot of the veggies come directly from their own garden. We did a lot of bird watching and you can see the Aracari, Toucans and Aras from your breakfast table.
You have to take a small ferry in Sierpe to get here, so make sure you don't arrive later than 5:30 pm.
Amazing!
