Staying here made our trip to Kyoto!
Pros:

The design of the rooms is excellent and they feel charmingly traditional especially with the individual internal garden for some of the rooms. The staff went out of their way to help us with all our requests.

Decently sized rooms, good coffee, friendly and helpful staff

Cons:

The pillows were quite hard, difficult to sleep
The location was about 15-30 mins away from major tourist attractions, quieter area
Quite expensive given that it had no facilities i.e. gym, onsen

Good place, confortable. Close to several Kyoto natural attractions
Pros:

The staff and onsen bath were great, as the traditional beds on the tatami. Walking distance of the Arashiyama bamboo forest, the monkey forest and the Tenryu-ji temple and a few steps of the Katsura river and the Togetsukyo bridge

Cons:

No food options within the hotel on the night of our stay nor at the next morning due to staff holiday.
