The location is excellent. The decor is beautiful, the room was a good size, thoughtfully curated.
The bed was a little uncomfortable, too soft for our liking.

The bed was exceptionally comfortable
I booked a half board package with this hotel being described as a five star, I expected the food to be exceptional. Unfortunately, I was sadly disappointed. I ordered the chicken for my evening meal and it tasted strongly of salt. My daughter ordered the vegetarian meal; this was inedible. I’m not sure what it was, but it was not fit for human consumption. The waiter himself advised that it was a new menu “and they were still learning how to cook vegetables, and were not very good at it.” I have never tasted such swill in my whole life. Now to breakfast… what a disappointment. I was handed a very elegant menu. Beautiful, we’re off to a good start! I thought. Once again, I was set up for disappointment. I ordered my full English. It arrived, beautifully presented. However, the eggs were slightly slimy, and the bacon was very fatty. Nevermind, into the next item on the menu. I was very informed by the very handsome and polite waiter that I could only choose two items. My slimy eggs counted as one, so I was left with one other choice. I chose the waffles, described as “homemade.” Now I might be mistaken, but tescos sell exactly the same homemade waffles, at exactly the same cost. The tea tasted like maiden's water, but that’s a whole different story. I will say, in the whole, I enjoyed my stay but sadly due to the food situation, I would not be returning.
Felt very homely, the staff are a real credit and make the experience. I have stayed twice in two weeks. Will definitely be back soon.
There was nothing I didn’t like.
Loved the eccentric decor - that combined with all the nooks and crannies to explore made it feel like being in Wonderland! Staff kind, friendly and welcoming, went above and beyond helping me. Food excellent quality, bed extremely comfortable, rainfall shower hot and high pressure, towels soft and fluffy.
There was an odd hissing sound every 10 minutes or so coming from just outside my room on the floor. I thought it might be a pipes issue. Also the fish dish, which superb quality, didn’t have a side with it, and one wasn’t offered, so it was a fairly small dinner. Odd as the other dishes on the menu all had large portions, and there was no indication that dish was smaller for any special reason.
Great find. Loved the location and the hotel in general was very comfortable. Food at breakfast was good - once it arrived.
Our room was very small. No wardrobe - barely any room to put our cases on the floor! Breakfast service was a little chaotic.
