Delicious ; excellent service and friendly staff

en de parkeer plaats waar je je motor ondef je kamer raam hebt staan
alleen het gas kost niet veel in thurso want de verwarming stond vol aan op de gangen

Staff were excellent and the room was spacious. Food in the restaurant was really tasty. Breakfast was included and there was a variety of things to choose from.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Stayed with a dog and was given a room in the annex (behind main building). This proved very convenient since I had the dog, it was easy to take him out for walks without disturbing other guests or walking up and down flights of stairs. Food was good and was accommodated in the bar/lounge area with the dog. Very central location, easy walk from rail station and close to beach and cafe's.

This review is for the restaurant within the hotel. We booked the day previous for dinner at 1915hrs. We arrived about an hour early and told them we had a reservation, which they confirmed. We were content to sit in the bar/lounge area until the booked time and they told us to have a seat until our table was ready. We were provided with menus to peruse while waiting, which was fine. After about 20 minutes, two wait staff came to take our order. When we said we would wait until we had our table, we were told we were actually going to be eating where we were seated, as they were fully booked with guests on a coach tour. We were not content with this, as our seats in the lounge were low and it would have been uncomfortable to eat a meal there. After having a bit of a back and forth, suddenly they provided us with a proper table. From there on, we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. We had vegetarian samosas as starters, slow cooked beef with mashed potatoes and grilled hake with roasted vegetables. It was all piping hot and well-prepared. An excellent meal.

Very clean and spacious rooms, staff were lovely and very attentive, food was amazing!

Ottima posizione. Letti comodi e camere confortevoli con bagno con doccia in vasca. Colazione Ottima. In camera c'è un cartellino per richiedere le pulizie. Parcheggio in cortile. I pavimenti sono in legno e nonostante la moquette scricchiolano.

Velmi příjemný personál na recepci i v restauraci. Dobře tu vaří. Pokoj byl prostorný a postele pohodlné. Velká koupelna, velký sprchový kout, jen poněkud malé umyvadlo. Parkování je možné ve dvoře hotelu nebo podél silnice před hotelem. V blízkosti je nádraží. Je blízko do centra města i na pobřeží.

Central location

Easy to find and park

We were travelling as part of an organised tour round the NC500 and my husband tried to contact the hotel beforehand as it was for a special birthday but we didnt get a response. The hotel itself was nice enough and central.

However, we were allocated a room in the coach house and our friends one of the chalet rooms which are to the rear of the car park outside the hotel. Having looked at the photos of the main hotel rooms, it was night and day. Incredibly disappointing that we clearly didnt have the same experience as some of our fellow travellers despite paying the same. We had a room with 3 single beds with a building blocking any light coming from the side window. It was old old fashioned but comfortable enough with a good shower but fell short as was in need of updating. Funnily enough didnt see any photos of this room type on their site.

On a positive note, the staff were lovely and the food was always piping hot.
