Ok for a very short overnight stay.
Pros:

Booked the hotel for the location near the ferry to Orkney

Parkplatz vor der Türe.
Frühstück war gut. Nettes, freundliches Personal! Zentrumsnah gelegen.
Abendessen gut.

Cons:

Nicht wie gebucht in einem DZ mit Dusche untergebracht. Badewanne mit Vorhang. In einer Art Motelzimmer neben dem Hotel. Schon etwas älter!

Immer gut für eine Übernachtung
Pros:

Für eine reine Übernachtung auf dem Weg nach Orkney ist das Zimmer OK. Wir hatten kein Frühstück gebucht, können also nur das Zimmer bewerten. Die Lage ist gut, kein Verkehrslärm, Parkplätze im Innen/Hinterhof, insgesamt sauber.

Cons:

Man merkt dem Zimmer an, dass es ohne viel Gespür für die Bedürfnisse eines Reisenden eingerichtet ist. Ein Brett in einer Nische mit einer Stange und Kleiderbügeln ersetzt die Garderobe, Ein winziger Kosmetikspiegel im Bad, angebracht für Personen über 1,80 m. Da waren die Unterkünfte auf unserer bisherigen Reise schon deutlich annehmbarer.

Just what we needed
Pros:

We liked having our own unit behind the main building where we could park the car right by the door and only had to lug our gear up a couple of steps. It was quiet and comfortable.

A little basic but clean, comfortable and very kind & welcoming staff. Did not consider it a family hotel, more for working people.

Basic hotel with lack of hospitality
Pros:

Very basic breakfast with minimal choice.
Very limited choice for dinner for someone with a garlic allergy although the eventual dinner was tasty.

Cons:

The staff were far from welcoming and could hardly look up to say goodbye when we handed in the key.

Not the best
Pros:

Stayed here whilst doing the nc500, room was not what we were expecting, outside in the car park, when we arrived room was freezing with no heating on 4 degrees outside, had to go across to reception to get them to turn the heating on, went across to the hotel for dinner, waitress had over powering perfume on, food was good quality, wine selection was poor only 1 rose wine and its zinfandel. Breakfast was dreadful, worst I've had, sausage bacon and egg and a potato scone that's it for a full breakfast, all items of poor quality including the tea, certainly won't be returning to stay here.

The hotel was basic but clean. We would not return.
Pros:

Room was clean. Dinner was good when it arrived after 1 meal was missing ingredients. Basically my husband was finished his meal by the time I got mine. The waitress was very helpful and friendly.

Cons:

Breakfast was poor quality and lacking in quantity.
Room was in the car park at the back of the hotel and separate from the hotel. Only 1 window and quite dark and cold on arrival. We did not expect this.
Dinner was missing an ingredient and when the staff were informed the chef questioned this but was in the wrong as proven when the dish was taken back to the kitchen.
