The hotel was lovely with parking out front which is always a bonus, the room was excellent, very clean and had everything we needed for our 1 night stay. Staff were very helpful and friendly 😃 the breakfast was beautiful set us up for the day.

Breakfast was excellent. Such a good selection. All cooked to order and so lovely and hot. Highly recommend this hotel cleanliness, staff friendly, and great to ask for ideas to visit places.
Straight out the door to the seafront. Loads of walks in the area.
Only one downside in our room there was a bit of damp on the wall.
We would have liked a room with a sea view but obviously not everyone can get that. As once they are allocated there is no more.

Excellent place, and very good breakfasts - almost a little too good on occasion! Well located on West Cliff, looking out over the North Sea (from the front, not my room, but I was out all day anyway mostly).
Not a dislike exactly, but a word of warning about location: It is handy for Whitby, but it is a mile to the Swing Bridge (I measured it by GPS) and there is a 40m height difference to the harbour. So if you struggle with some steep walking, it could be an issue. There buses every half an hour, £2 for an all day ticket, but they stop quite early in the evening.
Paul and Sandra made us feel at home and were very informative.Breakfast was the best I have experienced.Room lovely overlooking the sea. and a short walk to town.
