Friendly and helpful staff, managed to allocate me a room next to my sister without us even having to ask
Large light in the bathroom wasn’t working but I mentioned it while checking out and the reception lady said she would pass it along
Every member of Staff were really friendly and helpful, food was great. Room was comfy and spacious, plenty of electric sockets around the bed and room.
Decent size carpark which is important.
Door security cards worked well, other places I've stayed the key cards have malfunctioned.
There appeared to be good teamwork and staff on all levels came accros cheerful and not frustrated.
Can't think of anything
The hotel was perfect to stay close to Whitby centre. The room was large and comfortable. The adjoining pub/restaurant was nicely decorated and the bar was well stocked. Quite location, off a main road which is the main route to Whitby. Great stay but could've been better.
There was a lovely bunch of workmen, vans in the car park and hi-vis jackets. The language in the bar/restaurant was fruity, not the fault of the hotel obviously. There was one true gent working that evening and he worked his socks off, bar staff, waiter, hotel reception, and he was great but he could do with help. The customers had to wait, my meal, a £23 mixed grill, arrived cold and only the steak tasted like it was freshly cooked. The bar prices were on the higher side of average. Breakfast also had one member of staff but she managed because it was only residents, rather than walk-ins the night before.
Great location, free parking, lovely staff, kids area in bar/restaurant, good food and great value!
Nothing.

Easy check in
Price of food. On our second night we ordered food and I asked if they wanted to take my blc for discount too. I was told it's ok show it when you pay. Turned out when I went to pay I couldn't use it as we had two courses for £19.50. Feel incredibly let down as I am on a strict budget and dinners for myself and my two children cost more than the stay!
Sorry to say bed wasn't as comfortable as it looked
Lovely staff and nice breakfast
Clean
Everything was ok
Very clean great dinner and breakfast very warm welcome from Carolyn plus all staff very efficient.
Going home wanted to stay longer
On site meals available. Friendly staff
This my first recent stay in a Marstons Inn and Penny Hedge was exemplary, clean, bright, and friendly informative staff. Immediately on check in the house music played You’ve Got a Friend by James Taylor which was the theme music to the video tribute to my wife Shirley at her recent funeral. I was in bits but both the receptionist and chef were empathetic and supportive. A nice touch which of course is reflective of the individuals rather than the body corporate but nonetheless touching. Thank you.
Everything was fine
