It was available. The lady who welcomed us was friendly. It was close enough to the city.
They didn’t tell me that the room they put me in was extremely loud because of the motorway directly next door to it.
There were plenty of rooms on the quiet side of the building that were empty. I saw the curtains were all opened and I asked to change rooms. The manager told me that they were unavailable. At 11 o’clock at night all the curtains were open and in the morning when I got up all the curtains were still open in those rooms. Obviously, she lied to me blatantly. She basically sneered at me. I can tell that they purposefully go out of their way to make a point of not letting people change rooms.
The place was old and decrepit. It’s basically a last resort for anyone who wants a place to stay. Shared bathrooms are pretty ready and there are so many other places that are much better value for money available. If the staff was friendly and helpful, I would not be leaving a negative review.
Looked nice on the outside.
Not very friendly. Superhot with no chance of borrowing a fan. Could have pulled down the curtains. More like people having a pub and some rooms on the side. Very high deposit that I haven’t even gotten back yet after a week.
Friendly staff. Clean. Location to bus stops
Room basically. And very hot despite a fan. Steep steps. On a noisy road
I liked checking out
We stayed here on the 03/07, I had pre paid for the room. when we went to the "hotel" to check in the "reception" it was in a bar. I was told they had to "hold" £50 as a damage deposit on my card , that would be returned in 6 days. On the 6/7 I got an email invoicing me for the room, but they did not release the £50 until the 14/07.
Check in had to be before 10.30, I assume this is the time the person working in the bar is closing up to go home. We were brought into a sunroom off the smoking area of the bar, it stank of stale smoke.
We then proceeded to our room, on level 3. There was no lift. Our room was in the conner opsite the toilet and shower room. Some of the rooms in this hostel are not en suite. Entering the room was like walking into 1940. Old decor, odd beds. But spotless, there was no dust, no hairs and no dirt.
We asked how to get back into London stadium, we were given a number for a local "taxi", the taxi cost £40, the driver had no identification displayed and no card reader. The following day we found a bus 6 mins walk away at the price of £2.05. We were told any problems to call the number on the wall and the night manager would help us.
I did not sleep one wink as the bed was so uncomfortable, the mattress was too big for the base, and just a bad mattress, the other bed was as bad. I had accepted that there would be noise from the road outside , I didn't think that it would be like trying to sleep in the middle of the road, not only were the windows old but they didn't close full either.
To add insult to injury at some stage in the night I head banging....really loud, I was waiting for someone to barge into our room and demand that we leave, this did not happen. The banging was caused by other guest coming back to their rooms and needing the toilet they had to use the one across the way from our room.
Convenient location, friendly staff.
La gérante n'a rien voulu savoir: business is business, vraiment lamentable.
The staff were perfect, location was ideal for O2 Arena, only one bus away with the bus stop right outside the hotel
The shower and toilet was communal for the floor, which was fine and what was expected, however the shower lock was broken. We stayed during a heatwave and our room was on the top floor with a fan that didn’t work, in the winter it would be a nice cosy stay but the shower door being broken made for a very nerve wracking shower experience.
Welcoming
Clean and friendly. We were able to open the windows and it was reasonably quiet which was nice considering how close it was to a main road network. On a regular bus route to Greenwich centre.
En suite a little on small side, but pleased we had one in the room.
I really liked the location! London is beautiful but something it can be very crowded. This is the perfect place to stay if we want to stay in a peaceful zone of the city. Also the room was good, it was a bit small but perfect for one night.
The wifi wasn’t working very well at night. The check in was a bit slow. There was just one person dealing with the bar and also check ins so it was a lot at the same time. But they were very nice and explained everything very well. I saw a review of someone complaining about the deposit and the fact that it took a lot for them to get back (in cash). We didn’t have this problem, for us it was super quick!
