Looks pretty good, but its not - stay away from this hotel and Merida in general
Pros:

The Lobby and public facilities are very well decorated.
Breakfast was good but not worth the cost.
Not related to hotel there are a few places in town to eat well reasonably, we found one.

Cons:

I jokingly said this hotel was like putting lipstick on a pig- its still a pig. But I believe that is actually the case.
Our hotel room was very small, though it had been updated with new furnishings you could see all the shortcuts that had been made; slanting floors (including bathroom), rotting doors, fake ceilings hiding who knows what.
Apparently inept staff handling our check in (expressed by peer who came in shortly after our arrival).
No attempt to understand foreign guests - neither English or Portuguese.
Very high Parking rate for Garage.
The city in general appear to be a tourist trap to see roman ruins.

Pros:

Os funcionários na recepção muito atenciosos, e os da copa e da limpeza também simpaticos. A localização do hotel é excelente e a cidade uma agradável surpresa. Foi uma boa escolha, pena a metereologia não ter ajudado, apesar de não ter condicionado as visitas programadas. Tambem tive uma muito agradável experiência com a escolha de dois restaurantes com jantares excepcionais quer no atendimento quer na qualidade: o SCAMAS e o CATALINA...

Cons:

Algumas tapas, com fraca ou má qualidade, mas que podem ser evitadas.
