C'est un hôtel confortable. Bon petit déjeuner. Piscine sur le toit avec une vue époustouflante sur la ville. En plein milieu du quartier Makati.
Un peu bruyant et ascenseurs lents.
Close to Makati road and many restaurants.
Absolutely nothing more.
The state of the hotel is despicable.
It’s antiquated and dirty.
2 of the 4 elevators weren’t functional, pushing wait times up to 20 minutes.
The elevator size and load capacity are ridiculously small. The doors stay open four about 5 seconds before violently closing on anything in their path.
I ended having to take the stairs down with all my luggage after waiting on the 15th floor for over 20 minutes.
The rooms don’t have usb outlets.
And reception didn’t have any appropriate adapters.
The mini bar was completely empty, without even the customary courtesy bottle of water.
The plastering and paint on the walls in the room were bubbling out with water damage, and the smell of mold was noticeable.
Room cleaning didn’t even bother coming in on the second day.
The bed sheets were dirty when I checked in.
The bed is tiny and very uncomfortable.
The gym closes at 1900 hrs… Seriously… 1900 hrs?!
The lobby is barely functional and if you check in early, they simply leave your luggage stacked in a corner of the lobby with absolutely no oversight or means to secure it.
The surrounding area is abysmally dirty,
I’m no stranger to Makati, but even by Makati standards, this felt like being on Skid Row.
Homeless people and beggars sleeping and urinating right next to the hotel, and though my heart goes out to them and their plight, the hotel does nothing to clean up the mess they leave.
Fake Rolex salesman and other random street buskers aggressively chase you as soon as you exit the lobby, hoping to peddle their cheap wares.
I would never consider returning to this establishment, no matter how budget friendly it may be.
The St Giles is an absolute dump.
Nothing except the location and checking out.
Everything except the location. Lifts inside the hotel are very slow......took 15 minutes each day to rech breakfast on 2 floor from my room on 19th. Housekeeping in rooms is poor. Bathroom lighting and facilities are poor. WiFi is poor. Overall experience was not good. There are better 'value for money's hotels in the very close vicinity.
