I had done my hotel booking from BOOKING.COM and my booking id is 5465780790. I stayed at Hotel Sonar Tori, Deorali Bazar, Gangtok, and checked in on 14 July 2026. My scheduled check-out date was 18 July 2026 before 12:00 PM.
On the day of check-in, my family had lunch and dinner at the hotel's restaurant. We clearly informed the hotel owner, Mr. Arun Roy, that we would pay the entire restaurant bill at the time of check-out.
Despite this, the hotel owner repeatedly called me every day asking me to pay the restaurant bill immediately. I repeatedly informed him that I would clear the full amount during check-out.
On 16 July 2026, while I was leaving the hotel for sightseeing, Mr. Arun Roy stopped me in front of other people on the road, shouted at me publicly, and said that I could not leave unless I paid the restaurant bill immediately. This caused humiliation and mental distress to me and my family.
In addition, the hotel staff used abusive language towards us, and the hotel manager behaved in a rude and unprofessional manner. My family also felt intimidated by their behaviour.
I would also like to report misleading pricing. The hotel menu states that Egg Curry (2 pieces) costs ₹170. However, I was charged ₹160 for a single-piece Egg Curry. The menu does not mention any price for a single-piece serving, and I was never informed of this price before ordering. I have the cash memo and the menu card as evidence.
I request the concerned authority to investigate this matter, take appropriate action against the hotel, and ensure that such harassment and unfair business practices are not repeated with other tourists.

Washroom need to be clean
Everything was good. Spacious room, geyser control was with us, functioning kettle in the room, and large comfy beds. I was delighted by the authentic bengali veg thali served at lunch.
Rooms like a godown, No room service
The food was extraordinary.

Not a budget room.
Staffs were very friendly and hotel is budget friendly. I liked the food very much specially aloo Paratha, it's like home made food only and affordable as well.
