Amazing restaurant - breakfast and evening meals - I felt like a restaurant critic every evening - and had I been, my review each time would have been off the scale! Beautifully simple and understated rooms and stunning views. Uber friendly and attentive staff.
A place I will always remember, with its beautiful design, exquisite food and excellent service. Highly recommended!
Very much a foodie place! Breakfast was wonderful (very different from other places on Madeira) and the dinner options were very good - cooked appropriately, well presented, and varied. We enjoyed the included afternoon tea and homemade cake too!
The views from the bedroom box window seats and from the outside terraces.
The modern, almost Scandi-style.
Our room was a bit small (not much room to lay anything and the wardrobe was in the 'kitchen').
One of the otherwise wonderful waiters was a bit 'in your face' and not very relaxing to be around. We also received completely contrary responses from him about whether we were or weren't able to have just a glass of various wines (which his colleagues had happily served us the previous evening).
The last section of road up and the parking area are a bit narrow for easy manouvering (but it is Madeira!).
We loved the location and the staff
The views, the restaurant, and the helpful staff. Very hospitable group. We got the sea view room and it was pretty nice hanging out. The restaurant is delicious as well and the ingredients are fresh. Recommend trying if you’re staying.
Getting there is steep - it’s a long way up to reach the hotel and then parking is narrow so be careful. We got there at night and it was tricky to find the hotel because there were quite a few street forks. Getting to the rooms is steep as well, so time your arrival so there are staff around to help you bring up and down luggages (we had to bring down ours for an early flight and it wasn’t fun). Room in the night time feels bare - there’s no slippers and staff only had one for us as it was the last one in the whole hotel. Floor is concrete so it’s cold.
All was good, the place is very esthetic and beautiful but not sure it justifies the price.
Beautiful property set on terraces in a cove with gorgeous ocean views. Very lovely staff and great restaurant. Lovely bedroom with a great hot shower. Really fantastic breakfast.
We loved everything! But we felt the our ‘space’ was on the small side and everything was quite highly priced.
