Le calme et la vue.
Secluded resort with less than 20 rooms. Daily breakfast was fresh, healthy and top quality. Calheta is away from the bustle of Funchal, and a must see. Michelin quality food.
Die Lage auf den Terrassen am Hang, die Ruhe, die Aussicht auf den Strand, das Frühstück.
Das Haus ist eine schöne Kombination aus Modern und Traditionell. Das Frühstück war hervorragend, besonders, da es nach persönlichen Wünschen zusammengestellt wurde und nicht einfach nur ein Buffet war. Die Angestellten sind alle ausnahmslos extrem nett.
Obwohl es an der Sonnenuntergangsseite der Insel liegt, hat das Hotel keinen Blick auf den Sonnenuntergang, was sehr schade ist. Also nix mit Weinchen und Sonnenuntergang privat von der Liege aus schauen.... Dazu muss man dann runter nach Calheta Beach, was sehr voll und recht unpersönlich ist. Und die Parksituation am Hotel ist herausfordernd (aber wenigstens gibt es Parkplätze)

Everything was amazing
This is fantastic place to stay in Madeira. Calheta is a lovely town with the only (artificial) beach with sand brought from Morocco. So you can be doing hikes in the morning and go to the beach in the afternoon.
The place is superb with a great restaurant: breakfast was huge, fresh and varied and the stunning views are a huge plus! We had a room at the top of the mountain so there was a tiring but beautiful climb up after meals. The room was spacious enough and comfortable. I also enjoyed a lot the small swimming pool: much more comfortable and fun than it looks!
The staff was always kind and helpful and we would like to give a special thank you to Keanu at the restaurant for always taking care of us, giving advice for places to see as well as having a great chat :)
There isn’t anything not to like, though I am quite particular, so I would say the cleaning of the room was not as thorough as I would have hoped: the cushions/pads covers by the bow windows looked like they weren’t regularly washed, there was hair on the bathroom and shower floor and the towels had some marks, though I’m sure they were clean. I also found the mattress a bit uncomfortable as it wasn’t a memory foam one so you could feel every move of your partner. The bedside tables are a convex surface that makes them also annoying to use.
Parking is a bit tricky, but that’s pretty much everywhere on the island.

Gostei especialmente da atenção e esclarecimento prestado sobre a história do espaço socalco feita pelo Sr. Miguel que foi muito prestável connosco. Todo o staff foi exemplar connosco. Desde a recepção, ao Sr jardineiro e ao pessoal das refeições (pequeno almoço).

Très bel accueil personnalisé, surclassement, belle décoration, parking accessible, superbe vue, très bien situé. Petit déjeuner à table copieux, varié, de saison.
Un vrai coup de cœur. Entre vignes et potagers, le lieu dégage une atmosphère apaisante et authentique. On a adoré le menu qui change chaque jour selon les récoltes, et bien sûr la vue magnifique, entre mer et vignes, qui rend l’expérience encore plus spéciale.
Et cerise sur le gâteau, un accueil "Pet friendly" pour notre petit chien.
