Nothing
A tropical cyclone arrived on the second day of our stay in El Nido. We were in total lockdown—no power, no water, and no food for two days. The hotel supplied nothing and wouldn't turn on their generator for two days, only after many guests complained. Our flights were canceled six times, and we were trapped for three extra days. It was the worst holiday we have ever experienced.
room was clean and basic, beds a bit firm but ok with nice clean sheets etc. water is provided but there is no fridge in the rooms which was annoying. The accommodation is right on the water and located in an alley way with a few different restaurants, massages, tour guides and small convenient store. Wander along the beach and you will find lots of other hotels that you can stop in for food and to the right on the beach there is a massage place and a tour place called Palawenia's which offers private tours if that is what you are looking for. Overall we had a great time here and although it was basic the staff made it a nice place to rest your head
slight smells coming from the drains sometimes in the bathroom, showers were not great with not much water pressure and no fridge in the room
The location right on the sand was absolutely perfect, and the room itself was surprisingly clean and well-maintained. There were some fantastic restaurants just a short walk away.
While the location is great, I was quite bothered by a persistent and unpleasant odor in the bathroom. The beach experience was also less than ideal, as we were constantly approached by vendors selling various items. It was difficult to find a moment of peace and quiet to truly relax and enjoy the view.

It was right on the beach, but you can't swim if the tide is out unfortunately. The whole venue looks beautiful. They left a towel with swans on the bed one of the days they came in to clean which was a lovely touch.
The door wouldn't close properly so we got a lot of mosquitos in the room, the power would go out quiet regularly (of course this is out of the control of the owner but just bring a power bank if you're planning to stay here) , we got very sick while we were staying here so as a precaution I would not drink the water in the filtered tank too
Location was great and enjoyed the views. It was next to a coffee shop, shops, massage place and a couple restaurants. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Special Thanks to Earl and Henry who went above and beyond during our stay! Please note that El Nido is not a fully developed island, so lack on Wi-Fi strength, water pressure, etc. is common for an island like this. This is our second stay at this place. We stayed in the Sunset room which had a patio and was nice for hanging out and Sunsets. The restaurant and coffee shop next door which worked out well for my family member who had mobility issues. Aircon worked well and there was a dog and some kittens around that were no bother for us at all!
Disappointing Experience – Not Recommended
During our 16-day trip through the Philippines, Suites by Eco Hotel El Nido unfortunately turned out to be the biggest disappointment – especially considering the relatively high price.
From the moment we arrived, we noticed that the water in both the shower and the sink was brown and discolored. When we addressed this at the front desk, the receptionist with glasses responded indifferently, simply stating that it was “normal” and that the water came from underground. There was no apology, no attempt to resolve the issue, and absolutely no sense of empathy or customer care.
To make matters worse, on one of the days during our stay, there was no water at all – meaning it was impossible to shower, use the toilet, or even wash our hands. For a hotel in this price range, this is completely unacceptable.
Even more concerning was the presence of rats in the reception area. They came so close to guests that we felt compelled to leave the area immediately. For a hotel in this category, such hygienic conditions are beyond unacceptable.
Another negative experience was the hotel’s so-called Easter surprise: a plastic egg with a voucher was hidden in our room – in our case, for a free breakfast, and our friends received a voucher for a free beer. When we tried to redeem the beer on Easter Sunday evening, the same disinterested receptionist informed us that the voucher was only valid until noon – something that had never been communicated. We then asked about the free breakfast for the following morning (Easter Monday), only to be told that we should have signed up on a list the previous day before noon. What was meant to be a kind gesture instead created frustration and disappointment.
Overall, the hotel is run-down, the water situation unacceptable, and the service far below expectations. Regrettably, this was the worst – and most expensive – hotel we stayed at during our trip.
