The Room was stunning, spacious and quiet. My bed was lovely and comfortable and the extras of tea coffee, biscuits etc were great quality. The facilites were great. The restaurant was nice and I especially liked seeing the dogs there as well!
The only downside of my visit was the main meal I had on my first night. It was a bit oily and lacking any flavour, however the starter was delicious. There was a mishap at breakfast but it was remedied by the kitchen once identified & all the staff were very helpful and friendly. I would
definately stay again.
Brilliant location and our stay in Ancient house was really comfortable (quiet and great room). Complimentary mini bar was a really nice touch.

As always, it is consistently great in every way. There is no better place to stay in Wells.
The annexe is situated in a lovely old house a stones throw from the man building/pub. The location is fabulous.
I had chosen what looked like a lovely room. And it was not cheap. After a few days in a fabulous Airbnb our stay at the Victoria was meant to be the icing on the cake at the end of a wonderful week in Norfolk.
But we had not envisaged the heat source pump (or something similar) for the hotel was situated directly behind the bed head in our room. Which meant a constant burring noise - like a drill. Even when we were told it had been switched off it continued through the night. The hotel was fully booked but on the second night we were moved to a very nice room, also on the ground floor but well away from the noise.
The hotel should not be charging out the room we booked at such a high rate.
The menu in the dining room compared to a host of exceptional local eateries was decidedly uninspired. We were glad to have booked elsewhere for Sunday lunch.
