A mixed feeling
Pros:

The location is amazing; 5 min walk from Blok M Plaza, across the street from Apotik Mahakam, and surrounded by abundance and amazing street food.
The bed is comfortable, the room (Langsat) is clean and nicely decorated. The shower room was nice, and the water pressure was strong.
The staff were contactable via Whatsapp, and they were responsive. I was able to borrow plates/bowls and cutleries for the room.
The porch is inviting; it's the perfect place for having tea/meal, watching the rain, reading a book, catching up with friends, etc. The attached cafe serves great tea and coffee (they sell food and snacks too).

Cons:

The loud noise from the porch, street and outside the room door is disturbing my rest and sleep; I had to put on ear plugs just to have a peace of mind in the room! Is there any room in Lamandau House that is noise proof? Perhaps they should invest in double glazing all their windows, and soundproofing all doors.
Langsat room had its own porch, which in theory should be private and relaxing. However, because there is no real barrier between my porch and the neighbour, it didn't feel private and it's too noisy to relax! perhaps they should invest in tall plants that function as "porch divider".
There were a lot of mosquitos in the shower room. If there is nothing to be done, then at least the management should provide mosquito repellent that is plugged to the wall.

Honestly one of my favourite places to stay, anywhere!
Pros:

This is the third time we have stayed at Lamandau, and every time it exceeds our expectations. The Suropati room for our last three nights was brilliant.

Thanks as always to the Lamandau staff - you are always brilliant!

The property is beautiful! Rooms are large and everything is clean. It’s a really great boutique hotel. Hammocks and bikes to use.

I loved it! I didn’t realise breakfast wasn’t included though.

Pros:

Love the fragrant smell as you enter, cleaniness and welcoming feel. Our room was tastefully designed. I stayed at the room with terrace which was big and comfy for our family of 4.

Great building, staff not so much.
Pros:

It was a really beautiful building, it also smelled amazing and had extremely comfortable well appointed rooms and bathrooms. Great if you want to visit block M for street food.

Cons:

Slow staff.The slowness of the staff here really spoiled my short stay. 35minutes to get a coffee and yoghurt to my room even when I mentioned I'd need to leave soon, when it finally arrived I was leaving and struggled to explain to the server it's taken too long. Also requested help at checkout to carry my bags downstairs as the taxi was a few minutes away, was told ok and to wait...no one arrived and I could not wait as I was running late for a flight. I got a message much later asking where I was ...? Zero sense of urgency.

I love the ambience of the house, the fresh smell in the lobby and room is very welcoming. It’s within walking distance to Blok M, and the environment makes you feel at home. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and their food recommendations were excellent.
