Nice - just need better menu , no kids playing at night by rooms and no noisy fans all night.
Pros:

Rural , cosy , friendly staff , locals friendly and the lovely dogs , warm with woodburner lit , 🔥

Cons:

Menu small and basic compared to photos on the page advertising..
our room had an electric fan in the bathroom which didn’t switch off all night so extremely noisy and heating wasn’t on in the evening so room cold , kids playing on landing at 1030pm wasn’t great .

Wonderfully hospitable and kind people.
Pros:

The bed was fabulously comfortable and the sheets were lovely cotton. Quality that you normally only get in the best hotels!
Lovely meal in a room with a roaring fire.

Cons:

Nothing. The dinner options were a bit more limited than normal but this was a Monday night after all. Great that the kitchen was open!!

Superb.
Pros:

The staff were so friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough for you.
Although the mid week menu was small, it was perfectly cooked and the breakfast was very hearty, using all local produce.
A perfect village pub with lovely locals giving a fantastic atmosphere.

Cons:

Some tired fittings need replacing, however, the character of the village pub must remain and keeping a village pub alive, can’t be an easy task!
Keep on going.

Terrible experience…we won’t be returning!
Cons:

Dingy bar, terrible limited deep fried only food options (regular chef had left but no mention of that before we arrived!). Felt like being in an episode of Fawlty Towers! We ended up cancelling our pre-booked 60th birthday dinner at the Red Lion and driving to the next town (20 mins) for dinner. We skipped breakfast altogether next morning (after letting in food delivery man ourselves as no staff on hand in the morning)! Both pints of beer in evening ended up down the drain (off!). Terrible experience all round
