I had an absolutely terrible experience at the Great Northern Hotel in Kempsey, and I cannot recommend it to anyone. From the moment I arrived, it was clear this place is a disaster. The TV in my room didn't work at all – a basic amenity that should be guaranteed, but apparently isn't here. What’s worse, the staff couldn’t care less about fixing it or even offering a solution.

The morning was a nightmare. There were incredibly shouty women yelling loudly in the hallways, making it impossible to get any rest or peace. It was loud, disruptive, and downright rude. And to top it off, the bar area was filled with very scary, intimidating people who made me feel unsafe just trying to grab a drink.

This place is a joke. Completely unprofessional, unsafe, and just plain awful. Do yourself a favor and avoid the Great Northern Hotel at all costs. I will definitely not be returning.

I would probably avoid going there again.
Pros:

The rooms were clean and tidy.

Cons:

The rooms were exactly on top of the PUB and we couldn't sleep whole night. We reached late around 8PM and it was Chaos as you need to Check-In at PUB reception and the stairs were in the middle of the PUB so you can imagine the anxiety with family and all the luggage.
