Interesting building
Pros:

Check in was a little complicated as the signage is not very clear. It is actually in the Caffe that has a closed sign on the door (or near the door). I had to go through the upstairs which also had a sign saying Residence access only (prayer, reflection...) so was unsure as to if I needed to go there. The Check-in lady was really lovely and explained everything and showed me the room. The breakfast was good, full English with cereal and toast. The grounds around the hotel are lovely to walk through.

Cons:

Unfortunately we had a fire alarm that went of at 4 in the morning and then again 3 times during breakfast, the Lady did explain that there was a fault in the system so we did not have to leave the property every time, just the one at 4 and we have a kid who was rather scared and panicked a bit. But that was just an unfortunate situation.

Well worth the stay. Beautiful, peaceful place.
Pros:

Breakfast was extra to the price and was very nice. The whole idea of staying in an Ancient Abbey was not on our radar and so we were pleasantly surprised when we got there. The Abbey was surrounded by ruins which made very interesting and just across the fence was this 48 arch brick viaduct, absolutely awesome.
The Whalley village was just down the road.

Cons:

Nothing comes to mind, we were two nights maybe stay a bit longer.

Peaceful
Pros:

Lovely breakfast. Super grounds. Fascinating place.

Cons:

There was no soap in the bedroom (I was told that the soaps are regularly stolen, but there was no offer to get me any soap! I made do with the shampoo for the one night stay that I was there).

It took a bit of time to work out that this was the place that I booked. There was no obvious signage outside or inside other than that it was an Abbey for retreats. Booking.com had listed it as a hotel but nowhere was this shown. I do understand that it's an Abbey (and an wonderful place) but just a small sign that it's also booked out as a 'hotel' would have been helpful. I wasn't the only confused person around!

Pros:

This is a really special place. Relax, soak up the atmosphere and drink in the history. It's very quiet - I didn't see or hear other guests/ visitors past 5pm. Room was comfortable and well provisioned with good tea/ coffee and bed was really comfortable (but don't expect modern frivolity, like a TV or spa-like bathroom, this place is not about that!). The gardens are fantastic and the ruins make it an interesting stroll around. A short walk to the high street where there are plenty of cafes and bars (and a Co-op). There is also a cafe on site, but I didn't use it. I'm trying to find an excuse to visit again.

Cons:

Nothing

Pros:

Cons:

The Shower cubicle was very small
If you were larger than a 14

Also with it being so hot the windows didn’t open enough
So very stifling
