Pros:

It was a very nice hotel.

Cons:

The buffet restaurant didnt have a lot of variety for the price. Soft play is an additional cost. The check in process was horrendous. It took over an hour due to it being school holidays and lack of staff on reception. Not ideal with young children.

Not a good stay
Pros:

The facility was pretty inside with many amenities. The breakfast buffet was good but high priced.

Cons:

The service at the front desk was not good, even pointing us in the opposite direction of our room only to be ignored when we went back to desk to ask for further directions. Not sure the front desk person even realized that she had just checked us in 3 minutes before. When we finally found the room by wondering around the facility, the room was so hot inside. Despite the fans provided (one fan didn't work), it remained hot the entire night since the windows barely open. Then the room door constantly slammed shut unless holding all the way until close. The room was small and dated but functional.

Comfortable enough, but could do better...
Pros:

The hotel is situated in exactly the right area for my purposes, which is why I chose it. Comfortable bed. The staff were friendly and helpful. Good parking, close enough to the hotel was available, however I'm not sure this would have been the case if it had been fuller.

Cons:

The radiator control in my room was broken and I couldn't turn it off, which meant that it was far too hot in the room for me. This was alright, as I was able to open the window fully, but this would NOT have been an option later in the year when the midges are out. Also the window, when fully open, overhung one side of the double bed (OK for me, as I was alone, but if I'd had a partner someone would have drawn the short straw). I could not get cold water to drink in the room; there was a mixer tap on the basin, so the "cold" water was tepid, not desperate, but not very nice either. Breakfast was disappointing; the selection was adequate, but when I asked for a poached egg I was told fried, scrambled or boiled only. The "orange juice" was diluted orange and undrinkable. Likewise the coffee (possibly instant?) was absolutely foul and undrinkable. For £16.00 on top of the cost of my room, I would have expected a much better standard of breakfast. Also, I had several bizarre e-mails from Britannia telling me to contact the hotel "Urgently" through booking.com. I was aware of a scam operation purporting to come from Booking.com where people have lost thousands of pounds, so ignored these. I tried to contact the hotel separately, several times, but without success. On arrival I mentioned this to staff, and told them I thought it was a scam. They told me that no, this was something that Britannia does and that they (the staff at the hotel have told Britannia not to, but that they have not been listened to. A real pain in the backside Britannia! Apart from that, reasonable accommodation for an overnight stay. Accommodation wise, you get what you pay for, I suppose. (I won't be buying shares in Britannia any time soon though...)

Lovely stay but would benefit from better control over how warm the room is.
Pros:

Nice hotel and convenient location for aviemore and the cairngorms. Lovely rustik pub on site.

Cons:

Room didn't have any windows, and heating couldn't be turned down any further. So found it very hot during while in the room.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Pros:

We thoroughly enjoyed out stay as a family of 4 with 2 young kids. The room was very comfortable, facilities were great; we loved the pool and the park. The dinosaurs were a big hit. The staff were lovely, very welcoming. We'll definitely stay again.

Cons:

Everything was great.

Hotel better than the reviews
Pros:

The staff that we had contact with were always attentive and friendly.
Buffet breakfast was really good.
Evening Buffet maybe a few different choices as starters would be good. ie Pate with oatcake, or haggis bon bons .
Otherwise for a buffet just as one would expect. What we had was tasty enough. Hard to make a buffet meal to suit all. Maybe have hot sauce available for those that like it a bit more spicy.
Our room was good. Still very hot despite having the window fully open, that's been a mystery for years !! Bathroom looks like it had not long been updated , shower great.
As the weather was great the more outside seating areas were well used.
Over all I think this is an improvement since we last stayed .

Cons:

Hot rooms but it's always been like that for years.
Get window safety locks taken off

First visit, and would return
Pros:

This was my first stay. I was expecting it to be more noisy. Pleasantly surprised that the room & surroundings were quiet. Location was perfect for my visit and access to walks and the bus.

Cons:

The evening bar meal was not that special for the price. I used the bar for convenience. Next time I will walk back into town.

horrendous amount of stark messaging from Britannia spoilt our stay.
Pros:

great location. good facilities

Cons:

evening in restaurant was busy and the food was not up to standard and the positioning of the food trays was not logical and hence needed to go back and forth
Britannia stark messages to check in were not appreciated and initially thought were a scam and had many messages on the same theme even while staying at the hotel. Had to phone the hotel to check my reservation and the other 4 rooms of our party were told they had no reservation despite having booked and paid previously. Britannia must get its act together as all the nessages spoilt our stay despite the hotel being great.
