Coylumbridge Resort Hotel

The check in ..absolutely ridiculous check in time ,queue time about an hour waiting ,even although we had checked in online and only one person on reception checking guest in.
Hotel needs to look into this and work a better system for quicker check in.

Check in could be better organised. Had to queue for over half an hour despite checking in online prior to arrival.

Very busy and large hotel full of kids, so quite noisy.

Expensive charge for funhouse - felt like it should’ve been discounted more for guests - £4 or £5 maybe. £8 felt steep

I honestly don’t know where to start with Coylumbridge Hotel.
If you’re planning a family break, be aware that kids are booted out of the Woodshed Bar at 8pm sharp. Yet live music starts at 20:30hrs. So what exactly is the thinking there? It’s marketed as a family-friendly resort, but apparently kids aren’t allowed to listen to live music. It makes no sense — and the bar is clearly losing revenue by pushing families out just before entertainment even begins.
To make matters worse, there was only ONE person serving behind the bar. The wait times were ridiculous, and the poor staff member looked completely overwhelmed.
And whatever you do — do NOT order the brisket. You would think brisket would be slow-cooked, succulent, tender, and falling apart. Well, you’d have better luck chewing through the table than the brisket that was served. It was dry, tough, and honestly inedible. Absolutely disgusting.
Now let’s talk about their cash policy — because this is where it becomes farcical. They do not accept cash payments. Absolutely ridiculous. Cash is legal tender in the UK and using it is not against the law. Yet here’s the irony: all the arcade machines on site are cash operated. The pool table in the Woodshed Bar? Also cash only. So it’s like they can’t make their minds up — “we want your cash, but we don’t want your cash.”
Cash should always be a form of payment for everything on offer. This daft “no cash” policy alone is enough reason to avoid the place. But honestly, save yourself the heartache of going hungry while you’re at it.
The hotel itself looks nice at first glance, but it’s very dated. The rooms were excessively hot — stuffy and uncomfortable with no proper airflow.
Then there’s the pool area. The pool was absolutely freezing 🥶 and the jacuzzi wasn’t much better. Instead of relaxing, everyone was crammed into the sauna trying to warm up from what felt like an ice bath.

The mattress where very hard

Had a 40 minute wait to check in, even though we had to check in online a day previous. Woodshed bar was open but not enough staff and we spent more time waiting and watching as one person made pizza and serve drinks. I gave up and decided to just try my luck at the main hotel foyer area, which was OK but more like a crèche than a relaxing place.

It’s obvious how understaffed the whole hotel is. Such a shame hard working staff who are not enough to make this hotel what it could be. Location is glorious just get more staff in!!!

Check in is very slow despite being only 3rd in queue, the size of queue later in evening was really bad.

Everything seemed to take longer than it should and all the staff seemed really miserable apart from one lovely blonde bar staff who worked so amazingly with a smile on her face.

Cleanliness

very poor check-in experience, waiting in a queue for 45 minutes. Despite it being the peak time for checking-in, there was only one member of staff on reception!

The hotel was absolutely awful, the condition of the room was sub par, and needs a complete renovation to bring it up to standard. We were extremely disappointed with the accommodation. The photographs are very misleading.
