The check-in instructions were easy to follow, making arrival smooth and stress-free. The location was nice and convenient, and having a designated parking space was a great bonus.
The bed was comfortable and clean, which made for a good night’s sleep. The internet was fast and worked well for the TV once we figured out how to use it.
Overall, the self check-in process was straightforward and worked well. However, there were several issues that impacted our stay.
It was quite difficult to locate where breakfast was being served, as there was no clear signage or guidance provided. The room itself needed better attention to detail — there were cobwebs present, sealant around the bath appeared poorly finished, and there were no bathrobes provided. Additionally, the towels were damp on arrival, which was disappointing.
The overall finish of the room felt incomplete, with visible holes in the wall where a TV had been mounted and curtains that were both dirty and damaged. These details gave the impression that the room had not been properly maintained.
Breakfast was also disappointing. Black pudding was listed as part of the offering, however it was not provided, which felt misleading.
The hot tub was a nice feature and appreciated, but the cover was extremely heavy and difficult to manage. Finally, there was no one available at reception upon departure to raise these concerns in person.
Overall, while there were some positive aspects, the property would benefit from improved cleanliness, maintenance, and clearer communication for guests.
Location and it felt homely
You couldn’t go from the hotel into the bar
Central location, handy bar/restaurant serving a decent burger, spacious room and dog friendly. Even got room service for breakfast cause we had our dog with us which was great.
No pizza hatch open despite saying it would be open online :(
Lovely gardens and hotel right in the heart of Grasmere. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff were all friendly and attentive.
Nothing
Super convenient location
Tired and slightly dated rooms.
Great location, good sized rooms and convenient restaurant. The cooked breakfast was excellent and delicious. We really enjoyed staying here.
Nothing. It was very enjoyable.
Relaxed atmosphere, nice decor & hot tub for use of Mews rooms
Small bar for amount of people being served, would have preferred table service inside when dining. Maybe outside bar - pizza place outside could offer later opening.
Staff in hotel were friendly, room was a good size, clean and comfortable. Good location in the village. Enjoyed the music on Friday night
Could do with comfy area in beer garden as benches were not comfy for sitting. Had requested room with bath & although confirmed didnt have one, just shower.
Super hotel. Great location. Lovely room, clean and comfortable.
We paid for breakfast but it wasn’t available till 8.15 and guided walking tours in the Lakes begin early so we had to go without breakfast!
Wir hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt im Tweedies. Das Zimmer war sehr schön und das Frühstück ebenfalls.
Location, dog friendly, very good breakfast and lovely pub food. Lovely comfy bed and good bedding
Could do with a refresh
In rooms
Great place to stay, rooms were nice, facilities were great, staff awesome.
Just a little pricey I felt.
Clean, comfortable and reasonable value
Unfortunately, the water supplies to the hotel was disrupted during our stay which meant we had no water on the first morning of our stay.
There was also significant noise disturbance during the second night of our stay (10pm - 5am) due to BT works on the road outside the hotel.
Whilst neither of these incidents were within the hotel’s control it ultimately spoiled our stay in this lovely place.
The absence of a full time reception at the hotel also made it difficult to follow up with the hotel to understand what was going on.
Tweedies is such a good venue. Excellent B&B, the room was especially comfortable & clean with beautiful local Bath House products. The staff are very warm & welcoming and the breakfast is particularly good. We'd highly recommend 👌🏻
