The Swedish lady in the breakfast room is the shining star here, perfect service, not in your face, nice and relaxed
Lack of staff to greet on arrival
Welcoming, easy to find, good parking, staff really helpful and a great lodge and bar altogether.
Well decorated, clean and friendly staff
Nothing
Lovely location, comfy room, great decor, friendly staff.
Even though I booked knowing my room had a restricted view I didn't realise it would have no view at all (other than the roof and windows into other rooms). I know this is unavoidable but feel it should have been made clearer and the price should be adjusted further to take this into account.
Central location, tastefully decorated spacious room with comfortable bed. Delicious breakfast
Central location in Grasmere with plenty of parking. Great breakfast. Friendly and welcoming staff. ( Special mention to Amy who welcomed us to breakfast each morning with a warm smile and cheerful demeanor). We stayed in the Mews that had a hot tub, which was very relaxing after a day on the fells. Room well equipped, clean, tidy and comfortable. Very peaceful location (although did experience some early morning noise from builders working on a hotel refurbishment across the road, but this was not excessive). Great walks from the door of the hotel. Good pub / restaurant on site with good selection of food and drink. Very comfortable bed. Already planning to return.
Slight issue for us as older people was that our room in the Mews was split level with bed up a short flight of stairs, meaning having to go downstairs to use the toilet in the middle of the night. Allocated parking for the Mews rooms was quite tight and would imagine could be problematic to manoeuvre in and out if all rooms were occupied. You could also find yourself temporarily blocked in by delivery vehicles dropping things off. However, plenty of alternative parking available (that we used) so this isn't really a big issue. These are really minor things and certainly will not stop us using Tweedies again.
Everything! A lovely place to stay. Beautifully decorated and very clean. Great service and great food, locally sourced. With lovely gardens.
The very warm and friendly staff, the high quality of the decor and room furnishings and functionality. Rooms were spacious and luxurious.
Nothing- even though reception wasn’t staffed it was easy to find our room key and access our room
Lovely property situated in a beautiful area. Very clean and staff where welcoming
All very good but you pay a premium because of where it is
Cost was a bit high. Booked through Booking.com and then noted at reception that had we booked direct we would have got 15% off.
Exceptional breakfast, staff great, value for money.
No negatives
Lovely comfy rooms, excellent breakfast and a hot tub right outside our door that we could use any time - a fab stay! We also love the bar and restaurant (great beer selection and local food) - it’s also nice that these are separate from the main hotel so our room was very peaceful.
