Haus Wessel

The hosts and owners were outstanding, Wonderful welcome with pastries and coffee, also spoke good English. It had limited parking but that was close by and good. Enjoyed evening meal. The hosts also made us sandwiches for our journey home.

It is a small guest house and quite quaint, old world, but room had small kitchenette couch and table as well as small shower/bathroom.

It is close to tramway so access into Cologne would be good and was close to motorway so worked for us well

Das Zimmer, die Sauberkeit und Fürsorgedurch das Ehepaar Wessel sucht ihres Gleichen.Ich war viel unterwegs - national und international - und ich habe nie besser gewohnt. TOP EMPFEHLUNG -- Danke sehr.

Familie Wessel ist so eine nette, großzügige Familie, bei der ich mich wie zu Hause gefühlt habe.

Wir sind bei unserer Ankunft vom Herrn des Hauses mit einem erfrischend kühlen Kölsch begrüßt worden. Der Gastraum, das Treppenhaus und auch das Zimmer sind mit diversen Kuriositäten bestückt. Sammler kommen hier auf ihre Kosten.

During our trip we spent a whole day in Köln and stayed at Haus Wessel. Our hosts were incredibly friendly and we couldn't imagine a more welcoming and charming couple; they made sure we had everything we needed and certainly made our experience in Köln unique. Breakfast was also simple, but delicious. We strongly recommend this property and hope to see its owners again on a future trip to Germany! Thank you for everything!

We really enjoyed our long weekend stay at Hotel Wessel. The hosts were lovely and caring. They found time to chat with us and made us feel like family. They greeted us with a glass of local beer. The guesthouse and the restaurant were nicely decorated with interesting antique items. Almost like being in a museum! The facilities were clean and comfortable. Local specialties served. The room had everything you might possibly need during your stay. The breakfast was delicious.

Haus Wessel is the quintessential German gasthaus. Old school charm with a host and hostess that went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our stay. We arrived as guests and left as friends. Train station a short walk away for trips into the city/cathedral/restaurants/shopping.

The Wessels are the loveliest, most accommodating people. We had bikes to store, had to leave early on a Sunday morning and they made this work. They set everything ready so we could have coffee first thing, made us a big packed breakfast (that lasted us our entire day of travelling).
The hotel is very traditional which makes it really comfortable.
The location is in a village setting with cycle paths and woods nearby, an approximate 30 min. Ride to the Koln/Bonn Airport. Would have been super easy and sll on cycle paths except for the road maintenance underway.

The Wessels were so sweet and friendly, and the whole experience was a highlight of our trip rather than just a place to sleep.

Amazing traditional German guest house. Herr Wessel and his wife were incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was exactly what a German Gasthaus should provide. Absolutely perfect.

Rooms were comfortable and well kept. Refrigerator was even stocked with affordable drinks and a "night cap" dessert!

Local area had great restaurants, including the one with the hotel, within easy walking distance. Much safer and quieter than staying downtown and paying for parking. Much better to stay here, take a quick train ride directly to the city and avoid all the traffic.

Breakfast was very good, The owners were very sweet and despite our lack of german they still managed to fulfill our needs. We slept well, the beds were comfortable
