Delusione totale!

Abbiamo prenotato questo hotel per due notti per la modica cifra di 250 euro a notte per stare in una stanza descritta (con tanto di foto false) come una stanza dove stare tranquilli sulla spiaggia, che si é rivelata una delusione totale, spreco di soldi e soprattutto gli ultimi giorni di vacanza rovinati. Prima di tutto siamo stati costretti a pagare all’arrivo prima ancora di vedere la camera, e in contanti, altrimenti per pagamenti con carta chiedono il 3% in più. La camera non corrisponde minimamente alla descrizione e alle immagini inserite che sono fake. Vendono la camera sulla spiaggia come una camera con una vetrata sul davanti vista mare su spiaggia libera mentre hanno ben deciso di metterelettini e tavolini giusto davanti alla camera’ ovvero a un metro dalla vetrata della stanza!!! Il risultato é che la privacy é totalmente inesistente perché se si apre la tenda é come avere la gente (ospiti dell’hotel ma anche soggetti terzi) che sta nei lettini dalle prime ore dell’alba fino alla sera direttamente in camera. Abbiamo dovuto tenere le tende chiuse h 24 e usare le torce dei telefoni per vedere all’interno della camera perché la camera ha solo due luci da comodino fioche. Abbiamo pagato 250 euro a notte per una camera in spiaggia vista mare per ritrovarci in un bunker. Appena abbiamo visto la stanza abbiamo chiesto che ci venisse cambiata ma ci é stato detto che non era possibile e che l’unica cosa che avrebbero potuto fare era farci uno sconto del 20% a patto che cancellassimo la prenotazione su booking. In poche parole volevano farci cancellare la prenotazione così da evitare di pagare la commissione a Booking (e concederci uno “sconto” pari alla commissione che altrimenti avrebbero pagato) e sopratutto evitare di ricevere una recensione negativa. Ci siamo rifiutati e il risultato é stata una totale assenza di assistenza e disponibilità da parte della struttura.

Pros:

We stayed at Morena Boutique Hotel in the Eva room, and our whole experience was perfect from start to finish. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with anything we needed. The location is ideal — quiet, peaceful, and still close to everything.

The highlight was definitely the balcony. The view is simply another level: relaxing, stunning, and impossible to stop looking at. The room itself was beautifully designed, with so much attention to detail. We really felt at home.

If I could suggest one small improvement, it would be to add umbrellas in the rooms for guests — it rains quite often in this area, and it would be a thoughtful, caring touch.

Overall, we truly loved our stay and would happily come back again!

Es war gemütlich aber ich habe vom Zimmer mehr erwartet
Pros:

Das Personal ist super freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Die Terasse ist super um das Meer und die Surfer zu beobachten. Die Dachterasse ist wunderschon, cocktails sehr lecker.

Cons:

Das Bett quitschte leider bei jeder kleinsten Bewegung. Da das Hotel direkt an der Strasse und am Meer ist ist der Geräuschepegel hoch. Ich fand es schade dass man das abendessen nicht direkt im Hotel essen honnte, da das Restaurant um 16.00uhr schliesst. Die Klimaanlage hat zwar funktioniert aber sie lief 24/7 und die gewünschte Temperatur wurde nicht erreicht.

Perfect location for surfers – unbeatable stay
Pros:

The location is absolutely perfect if you love surfing. There’s a famous wave just a few meters from your bed, you literally wake up, look out, and see the ocean and turtles swimming by.

The breakfast was one of the best we’ve had during our stay in Sri Lanka, fresh, generous and beautifully prepared. Everything about this place feels special.

A must-visit spot if you’re coming to the south of Sri Lanka.

Pros:

Прекрасный отель, наполненный любовью к природе и людям, очень много зелени на территории и вокруг. Безумно красивый вид на океан с кровати. Люди-персонал очень добрый и готовый прийти на твою просьбу в любое время. Мы ездили утром на экскурсию и не смогли по времени позавтракать, нам без проблем накрыли завтрак, когда мы вернулись. Вкусно все, особенно впечатлил гуакамоле. На завтрак перед выездом в аэропорт, приготовили с вечера боксы и даже налили кофе, это было сделано с заботой и любовью. Задержались в итоге на три ночи и еще б вернулись. Обязательно буду рекомендовать друзьям. Спасибо Вам большое за наш счастливый мини отпуск 🤍

Our Favourite hotel in the South
Pros:

Following the advice of many other travelers who recommended coming here, this became our favorite hotel of our entire trip through the south.

The experience was incredible, literally right in front of the beach, where you step outside and you’re in the ocean.

Breakfast included was exquisite, and the food at the restaurant was consistently excellent throughout our stay.

There is a swimming area with a natural pool that feels truly magical at sunset.

We would absolutely come back and recommend it without hesitation.

Preisleistung steht in keinem Verhältnis
Pros:

Das einzige, was ich richtig positiv bei diesem Hotel empfand, war die Lage. Es liegt direkt an einem Strand, an dem die Schildkröten kommen, um Plankton zu fressen. Bei meiner Ankunft konnte ich sieben Schildkröten dabei beobachten.
Auch den Ausblick von der Bar, die sich Rooftop befand, kann man auch positiv bewerten, dieser war sehr schön.
Das Frühstück war gut. Man konnte à la carte ein Gericht auswählen, ich habe mich für die Bowl entschieden. Sie war frisch zubereitet und mit sehr guten Früchten. Allerdings empfinde ich auch hier Preisleistung als nicht gegeben.
Ansonsten habe ich die Unterkunft gebucht nach den Fotos und Rezensionen und war mehr als nur enttäuscht.

Cons:

Es fing damit an, dass bei Bezug des Zimmers (es war nicht früher als angegeben), das Badezimmer sehr rudimentär gesäubert wurde und alles komplett feucht war.
Dazu kam auf meinem Bild suggeriert wurde, dass ich einen separaten Bereich vor meinem Zimmer habe. Das war leider genau das Gegenteil!
Vor dem Hotel befindet sich eine Terrasse, die mit Sand aufgeschüttet ist. Von dieser Terrasse aus kann man direkt in die riesigen Glasfenster meines Zimmers schauen. Da die Vorhänge nicht komplett über die Breite gehen, habe ich auch keine Chance gehabt das Zimmer komplett zu verschließen. Morgens hat mich dann der Angestellte gleich mal gesehen, der die Liegen vorbereitet hat.
Insgesamt zieht das Gebäude eher nach einem Beton Rohbau aus als nach einem netten Hotel.
Am letzten Abend durfte ich dann noch feststellen, dass mein Gepäck komplett durchfeuchtet war. Das lag daran, dass alles feucht gewischt wurde und man nicht darauf achtet, dass mein Gepäck da lag.
Die Freundlichkeit des Personals war durchwachsen. Während des Bar Personal sehr freundlich und bemüht war, war die Dame an der Rezeption eher sehr kurz angebunden. In der Nacht fiel der Strom aus, allerdings nur in meinem Zimmer. Es bedarf erst einer Diskussion, damit sich jemand darum gekümmert hat.
Es war meine teuerste Unterkunft in Sri Lanka, dafür aber mit Abstand die schlechteste. Das geht besser.

I must be honest ..

Location right on the beach

I booked 2 seperate rooms for our family of five. Sadly found out once we arrived that they do not supply a roll away bed even when they are notified of 3 guests in one bedroom. Both rooms were not cleaned or beds made on the first full day. Unfortunately, we also found that the shower and toilet were blocked. One room had no hot water.
Overall, the level of service was disappointing. Breakfast took nearly an hour to be served for five people, despite us consistently being the only guests dining at that time.
While the view is undeniably beautiful, the accommodation and service did not meet expectations. I would not recommend staying here. The staff would greatly benefit from further training to improve guest experience.

Grate stay
Pros:

We chose this place mainly for the location, but it ended up offering much more. Incredible views, (turtles from the bed, a famous surf point) a fantastic breakfast included, and an overall experience that felt well above what we paid.
Everything was easy and comfortable from start to finish, and the atmosphere made it a place we genuinely enjoyed spending time in. It definitely exceeded our expectations.
