Really lovely place to stay, in beautiful rooms with welcoming and friendly host
Cons:

I found the single beds a little uncomfortable this time - one was quite hard. Shame, because last time I was very comfortable.

A very pleasant stay and exceptional value for money
Pros:

I stayed at the hotel for one night on June 15th 2026. I originally booked a budget single room but was informed on arrival that I'd been upgraded to a twin bed studio apartment at no extra cost which was a very pleasant surprise! The apartment was spacious and very nicely appointed with a well furnished kitchen area (tea, coffee and a wide selection of condiments were offered and there was a bottle of fresh milk in the fridge!) The bathroom contained what looked like a very decent shower although I didn't avail myself of the facility. The bed was really comfortable and the surrounding area was quiet so I got myself a very decent night's sleep ... the wooden shutters on the window were very useful in keeping out the light in the early morning.

The hotel is well located and there are ample parking facilities in the immediate vicinity.

I took a lovely short walk into the village centre where I found very pleasant pubs (which served food) and a convenience store where I picked up a snack to take back to my room. The view of the bridge over the River Tay from a pub beer garden was particularly impressive.

There was no breakfast/meal option offered by the hotel but there were establishments close by that cater for this ... had I been staying longer then I could have made good use of the kitchen facilities.

Although I didn't have much contact with Hilary the host due to my short stay she appeared very friendly and welcoming.

All-in-all I had a very pleasant stay and I thought that the room was exceptional value for money and I would definitely stay here again.

Thank you Hilary.

Cons:

The only very slight negative was the small size of the hand sink in the bathroom which didn't leave much room for manoeuvre from a splashing point of view although the tiled floor made it easy to mop up any spillage if needs be.

Beautiful, well-located and highly recommended
Pros:

I was actually shocked when I walked into the room as I hadn't realised from the pictures how nice the accommodation is. It was genuinely lovely - really spacious, light and airy. The way the room has been furnished is great as well - cosy but minimal, if that makes sense. The bed was very inviting and comfortable. They also have a decent TV, which is quite a rarity.

The kitchenette is also excellently appointed, with everything you'd need: a two ring hob, a microwave, toaster, kettle, air fryer(!) and fridge/freezer (they even left me some fresh milk!). There's also a small table with an extra chair by the kitchen's window seat.

I was so happy with this room, I wished I was staying longer. I felt really relaxed and would actually travel back to Birnam just to stay here again and enjoy the village and its surroundings. The location is also excellent for arriving by train as it's a two minute walk to the station. The Birnam Arts Centre is also just across the road and a couple of houses down, so not even a one minute walk away.

Cons:

The wi-fi was a bit temperamental connecting to the TV, which was frustrating. Once it did manage to stay connected, the picture was clear and high quality, so I assume it's a fast connection. (I didn't bring my laptop so the TV was the main use I had of it.)

Empfehlenswert für Zwischenstopp
Pros:

Pros:

Such a wee gem! I booked the studio and it was exactly as described. I found it impeccably clean, quiet, spacious and comfortable. I contacted the property ahead of arrival and mentioned my mobility issues and Hilary was so very helpful. Much appreciated as a solo traveller too. Thank you!
