Cosy comfort in beautiful surroundings.
Pros:

Another super stay at Merryburn, we opted for the studio this time, which is self-contained, cosy, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. Always a bonus having kitchenette facilities. Lovely warm welcome from our host, with easy parking and check-in/out. Birnam Arts Centre & Cafe just round the corner and a short 10-15 minute walk to Dunkeld with it's lovely shops, cafe's, restaurants and bars. Perfect location for accessing varied levels of walking ability.

Pros:

Although I slept well bed was very very soft
I liked that I could eventually park my van directly outside the door to the merryburn
There was a good stretch of grass next to a very quiet area to let my dogs out before bed and first thing in the morning

Cons:

The toilet and shower where not en suite and there was no light in the shower
Was very odd stepping out of the shower next to bed
Bed very very soft

It was a fabulous, welcoming, relaxing stay in a beautiful room with everything we needed!
Pros:

Wonderful stay! Everything was lovely. Very spacious twin room with kitchen facilities, fridge, etc, which was a real bonus. The location is ideal, just a 10 minute walk into Dunkeld. Fabulous cafe for breakfast just a minute along the road. Very quiet, with shutters on the windows that kept the early morning light out. Lovely friendly welcome from the host and we were able to leave our bags on checkout too. Couldn't fault it.

Cons:

Absolutely nothing!

Hidden gem within a hidden gem
Pros:

The room was so cozy and yet nicely furnished, plus it had essentially a full kitchen. When I saw it I wished I would have booked a longer stay! The owner, Hilary, was so sweet, she said the heating wasn’t working well so she set up this lovely little fireplace-shaped extra heater in the room before I arrived. It was necessary, as it was fantastically cold for those days. It’s also so close to the station! And it was an easy walk to get to groceries, restaurants, and some of the most lovely hiking trails I’ve ever been on. I couldn’t believe how inexpensive it was, considering how charming the place was. The snow just made everything that much more magical. I can’t understand why the place wasn’t mobbed with tourists.

Cons:

There was just one thing, and I think it probably wouldn’t bother most people, but there are gaps in the door big enough to let sound in quite easily. I have a sensitivity to sound, so even light noises of other people talking are hard for me. Thankfully there were just a couple of short conversations in the evenings.
