On the whole mediocre.
Pros:

Location, however it was next to a busy road.

Cons:

Cleanliness and the windows did not shut properly so there were spaces through which noise and draughts came.

Cons:

Having booked well in advance and requesting a quiet room I was allocated room 1 which was very noisy. Also noise from room adjoining (no2) and rooms above. Also problem with the window and trial not connected to Tv on arrival but was fixed. Light entry also from poor curtains and big gap under door

Pros:

Good location. Room smart and well appointed except for one broken bed light on side nearest window. Bathroom very clean.

Cons:

The ‘welcoming’ member of staff on reception not very welcoming- he just said “name please”. I was a bit shocked as it was not what I was expecting from a smart hotel. I told him it was our anniversary- he didn’t wish us a happy anniversary but just said ‘how many years’ in dead pan voice. He seemed a bit superior in his manner we thought. When we went for our meal despite having mentioned upon booking our table that it was our anniversary celebration when we arrived at bar only a few minutes early we were told ‘could we just wait over there’. We weren’t made to feel at all welcomed or special. I had left a note on booking the table that it was our anniversary meal but we were just made to feel like a number. The restaurant was far too hot even on a day which was not particularly hot and I asked for a window to be opened. I was informed that none of the windows open and “it does get a bit too hot in here”. Considering the prices of the meals I would expect a comfortable temperature to eat your meal! My meal was poor unfortunately and I had to make a complaint which is extremely rare for me to do. To be fair the waiter was apologetic and came back with an offer of some wine by way of an apology. He was a good and attentive waiter and very friendly and kindly took a photograph. Duvet cover was in horrible polyester not cotton and was not comfortable. Everything else was ok. Overriding impression of the hotel was that some of the staff are a bit above themselves to be honest. We wouldn’t stay again but it was clean and room smart.

AVERAGE EXPERIENCE….
Pros:

THE PUB ITSELF IS NICE

Cons:

BREAKFAST WAS POOR. NO BREAD! ….. WHO EVER RUNS OUT OF BREAD?! …. SO MY SMASHED AVOCADO ON TAOST WITH BACON, WAS REDUCED TO A BARELY TOASTED MUFFIN, NOT A VERY GENEROUS PORTION OF AVOCADO, AND A MISERLY ONE RASHER OF BACON!

MY SONS BATHROOM IN THE DISABLED ROOM 15 KEPT FLOODING. WHILST I APPRECIATE THE EN-SUITE IN SUCH A ROOM IS MORE A WET ROOM THAN AN EN-SUITE IT RUINED HIS EXPERIENCE. SHOULD WE NOT HAVE BEEN WARNED IT WAS SO? ALSO ROOM 15 IS SERIOUSLY IN NEED OF MODERNISING.

RM 22 - OUR ROOM WAS PLEASANT ENOUGH, BUT GIVEN THE POOR SOUND PROOFING YOU FEEL AS THOUGH YOU ARE LITERALLY ON THE ROAD WITH THE TRAFFIC!

ALSO WE STAYED THREE NIGHTS AND ON DAY TWO WHEN WE RETURNED FROM DARTMOOR C.6PM OUR ROOM HADNT BEEN CLEANED, TIDIED, BED MADE NOR ANY FRESH TOWELS, THIS HAD OCCURED THE DAY BEFORE.

Nice , comfortable stay . Does the job. Great pub and food .
Pros:

Location is good . Staff were very polite and great. We reached on a hot day and I requested for a fan . Although they said there aren’t any available , however when we reached there they had a small one in the room. Food at the pub was great and we dinner there two nights out of the four we stayed

Cons:

We were in a family room. Room could have been a bit bigger. There is no wardrobe, even a small one. There is a small rack which is free stand in to hang clothes and keep luggage , but with a family of four it was difficult to manage. There is room under the TV to accommodate a small storage area at least .

Nette Unterkunft
Pros:
