The breakfast was very good. A nice big pot of tea, crispy cornflakes, thick brown toast and a full English plate of bacon, sausage, egg, beans and fried bread Whilst the hotel was very tired the room was clean and the en-suite was quite spacious. I particularly liked having a teapot in the room rather than having to just dunk a tea bag in a cup! Overall it suited my need of just a bed for the night but I wouldn't consider it for a longer stay.
The hotel generally was in desperate need of updating, it appeared to be stuck in a time warp from about 50 years ago! I didn't get to look at any of the facilities such as the pool but imagine they were similarly a bit tired and tatty around the edges.

This is up a hill on the bend in Torquay. Its a classic hotel that caters to coach tour packages. Plenty of local stores nearby. Room was ensuite, clean and quite comfortable. Food was quite acceptable and staff friendly. There is even a swimming pool but I didnt access it.
Wifi needs upgrading and extended through the property.

Comfortable room. Clean and convenient
I went down to breakfast at 8:50. I hadn’t been told that they finished serving at 9 am by reception the previous day. The waitress took my order for breakfast when she bought out she said she was sorry that it didn’t have everything on it, but the Chef had switched off all the stoves as it was after nine. All the food on the plate was stone cold and the egg barely done. Bearing in mind I actually arrived 10 minutes before nine and the order would’ve gone in just before nine, why were the stoves stone cold? The waitress was lovely and and said that she would’ve cooked herself but couldn’t because of the cold stove. Surely if you advertise that breakfast is served until nine nothing should be switched off before then.
